Chapter 41 Hiraeth

Everyone greeted Dahyun and Sana with hugs and are you okays but that doesn't mean they're all happy knowing someone from their side died during the rescue operation.

Out of all of them, Jihyo and Jiro had it worst, Jiro was enraged that he started going insane which made Ashe confiscate Jiro's sacred treasure so that he can't use his vexus since he's still not in the right state of mind to do so.

Jihyo on the other hand, keeps on kneeling and bowing to the Code Alliance members saying she's sorry for not being strong enough to help Layla but even Jiro himself can't get angry at the thomas knowing that dying in a battle is inevitable and it doesn't help the fact that Layla's been unfortunately paired up with CL.

God knows how Ashe, Chungha, Hiro, Tzuyu, Yara and Mina tried their best to arrive in time after placing an unconscious Momo, Jiro and Nayeon on the car but it was already TOO late when they saw an exhausted Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana and a crying Jihyo on Dahyun's arms.

Before they left the villa, they reflected. Rein and Bado died while Kaehyun was held captive and a bunch of Gizmoxus were collected for future use while Roku and CL managed to escape. They left no trace of it by making Jeongyeon burn the whole building down.

They arrived in the manor with a confused Chaeyoun and a sobbing Yeunwoo, for her, Layla's like the little sweet sister she never had because apparently she's an only child.

The guild immediately proceeded to do the funeral and tribute for Layla in the Vexir way by gathering all representatives for each clan. Ashe asked for Tzuyu, Jeongyeon and especially Mina's participation for this since Ashe is representing her clan, Jiro representing their clan, Chungha, Yara and Yeunwoo for the Human race.

They placed Layla's body in a wind-coffin to give respect for the supposedly union of two clans while each of the representatives encircled her coffin while they were extending their hands out.

Blue, Green, Yellow, Dark Purple, Red, Orange-brown, Black beams appeared, hitting Layla's coffin until it exploded with brightness, Yellow-ish brightness and then they saw a mark, just like Mina's before it completely vanished.

The others just watched in awe, taking their time to appreciate the bond between clans which they are still confused of. True, they still have questions unanswered and that's why after a day of rest (since all of them are so tired and restless) Ashe called everyone for the moment of truth.

A soft knock can be heard followed by the sound of the door being slowly opened.

"Mina-unnie, Ashe-unnie's already calling us down."

Mina sighed at this, relieved. It's the moment she's been waiting for, the moment her questions will be answered. Mina got a separate room from the rest since she's the one who got all her energy drained and was used to the max.

When she saw Dahyun and Jihyo, she immediately went to their aid and also wasted her energy trying to revive Layla which she knows it's futile but still she somehow can't accept it, she have a lot of questions for Layla regarding her–their clan plus that ceremony yesterday made her limbs feel weak.
