George couldn't believe what he had just heard Richard say to the nurse. Of course he had a reason to stay. George for one thing and Rachel for another.
"Did you really think that you had no reasons to stay?" George asked. Richard looked down at his lap, giving George his answer. Letting out a sigh, George sat back down next to Richard.
"Do your parents still live here Richard?" George couldn't think of anything else to say.
"No. I told them what had happened between you and me, so their solution was to disown me and leave. Your parents were kind enough to let me stay with them until I had enough money to sustain myself." He replied. George looked at him and nodded. He looked down at the blanket with a lost in thought look on his face.
A few hours later it was dark outside and the two of them were allowed to leave. The walk to George's car was short and silent. (His parents picked him up so that he could get his car and toiletries from the hotel room.) They'll have to come back the next day to get the stitches removed.
"Do you want me to drop you off at your house or do you want to come with me to my hotel room?" George asked.
"I'll go with you. It'll be a shorter trip in the morning." George nodded as he got into the drivers seat. The entire ride to the hotel was silent. But it wasn't an awkward silence, it was a comfortable one. It was nice for the both of them, knowing that the other was in arms reach.
