The entire dinner Richard kept staring at where George was sitting and vise versa. Neither of them could believe the other was there. Richard couldn't belive that he had a kid that he didn't know about. Everything was clearer now. Back in high school, George was acting strange because he was pregnant, probably scared. But why didn't George tell him? They could've run away together, instead of George running away alone.

Speaking of running away, how did John and Paul know where to send the wedding invitation, if they didn't know where to send it. Unless, of course, they knew and decided not to tell him. Or they were asked by George not to tell him. Either way he couldn't believe that they didn't. After what they heard him say to himself, what they saw him doing to himself, after those terrible things, they thought 'Richard is hurting because George ran away pregnant, but doesn't know and blames the whole thing on himself, we know where he is, but he told us not to tell Richard, oh well'.

This just made Richard angry. His friends didn't see it fit to tell him. Maybe there was reason that George didn't tell him, a reason that wasn't because he was scared. The reason was that he didn't want Richard to be in his or Rachel's life at all and made it seem like he was scared so that he didn't have to tell the real reason. That was probably it.
