On Monday, Kyle rode the bus with me, just to be around me.
We kissed on the bus a few times, but stopped the minute someone started hooting and whistling at us.
At school, since we had almost all the same classes, he sat next to me in all my classes and when we were walking down the hallway he kept his arm around my waist, almost possessively.
"Hey, Kyle?" I asked him at lunch.
"Hmm?" He tried to talk with his mouth full.
"Why do you want to be around me? I'm a nobody! My only friends are the people in my dreams!" I was currently under the impression that he was on a dare with his sister.
"Okay, one: I want to be around you because I really like you. Two: I'm a nobody, too, so that kind-of cancels itself out. And three: I don't really know what to say about that. Do you really talk to your imaginary friends that are in your DREAMS?" He said after he had swallowed all his food.
"Um, yea...." I didn't want him to think that I was a weirdo or anything. I was in heaven! I should just keep my mouth shut from now on and enjoy his company.
"Well, I don't care. Whatever floats-your-boat I'm cool with it," he said to me with a smile.
I smiled back at him and rested my head on his shoulder.
This was a really good day.
