At school the next day, I completely ignored Kyle.
"Hey Jess, you wanna go to study hall?"
Ignore.
"Jess, you wanna eat lunch together?"
Ignore.
"Jess, you have a pencil I could borrow?"
Ignore.
"Are you ignoring my?"
Aaaaaand, ignore.
I'm not gonna waste my time talking to an asshole who thinks having a one night stand with his virgin girlfriend and then leaving her to wake up alone is okay.
With the way I feel towards him right now, I'd love for The Nightmares to kill him. Well, maybe not literally, but maybe a little spook would be enough.
"Jess!"
Ignore.
"Jess! Come on!" I heard him running down the hallway to catch up with me.
Ignore.
I felt his hand touch my shoulder and I finally spun around to confront him.
"What do you want?" I raised my voice purposely grabbing the attention of the other kids in the hallway.
"What's up with you, Jess? Why are ignoring me? You're acting kinda bitchy."
I widened my eyes, "I'm acting kinda bitchy? Ha! Says the guy who leaves his girlfriend alone in bed after taking her virginity!"
"Are you serious right now? I got bored 'cause I couldn't get to sleep, so I got dressed and went to watch some late night tv. I don't see anything wrong with that!"
"You acted like it was nothing!" I was screaming now making some kids come out of classrooms and bathrooms to watch.
"It really wasn't! I don't see what the big deal is, Jess! What's wrong with you?"
"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you?" I thought you cared, Kyle!" Tears began forming in my eyes and I stubbornly whipped them away.
"What are you talking about? I do care! Are you on your period or something? What's going on with you?" He looked at me like he was actually confused on what I was talking about.
I straightened my back and looked at him with watery eyes, "You know what, Kyle? Fuck you, okay? Fuck you! I'm done being your girlfriend! Go find someone else to leave in bed you fucking asshole!"
His eyes flashed with hurt, but quickly changed to anger, "That's funny you say 'fuck you', because isn't that what you did the other night"?
Embarrassed and enraged, I stormed over to him and smacked him as hard as I could across his face. He fell back and hit the lockers behind him. He looked up at me with complete hatred in his eyes.
"You fucking freak! And you wonder why you don't have any friends! It's because you're a freak of fucking nature!"
He kept screaming insults at me as I walked down the hallway and out of the school crying, not planning on ever coming back.
Come to think of it, The Nightmares killing him doesn't seem like such a bad idea now.
