I woke up felling numb and cold.

My arms and throat hurt like hell and my eyelids were practically glued shut!

I struggled, but succeeded, to open my eyes and get a good look at my surroundings.

I wasn't in my bed, anymore.

"Kyle, she's awake!" I heard the familiar voice of Kyle's sister somewhere close to me.

I heard footsteps from across the room coming closer to me, but I couldn't turn my head.

I saw Kyle's face in front of me and he looked worried.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" His voice was so full of concern that I felt so bad for worrying him.

"Fi-" my throat was killing me, I could barely get the words out. I winced in pain and a frown formed on Kyle's face.

"Sorry, you don't have to reply," I nodded my head slightly.

"I'm gonna go get you some pain killers."

Aryanna got up from the chair and walked into the kitchen.

I sat up on the couch and realize that this wasn't even my house.

"W-where am I?" My voice came out scratchy and low.

My throat was f*cking killing me!

"You're at our house, when I found you in the bathroom I got really scared. I didn't know what was wrong. But then I brought you here and-"

"And I knew right away that you were hyperventilating. Why? I still don't know by the way, why were you hyperventilating?" Aryanna interrupted him as she came back with a pain killer.

"I-" I went into a coughing fit before I could answer. Oh god, kill me now!

"My throat-" my words trailed off due to the horrible pain.

"Here, take this," Aryanna handed me the two pain killers and water that she had brought back for me.

"Thanks," I quickly poped the pills in my mouth, but I struggled in getting them and the water down. But I managed.

I continued to drink the water until it was all gone. It cooled my burning throat and made some of the pain go away.

I handed her back the empty cup.

"Did you need anything else?"

"I'm kinda hungry?" My the pain was bearable enough that I could talk.

"Alright, I'll cook us some dinner," she smiled as she walked back to the kitchen.

"You still didn't explain why you were hyperventilating," Kyle's voice filled my ears.

I looked at him confused.

"You were freaking out yesterday when I came to walk to school with you. You were huddled in a corner in your bathroom."

"I don't-" I began to cough again.

"She doesn't have to say anything yet, Kyle. Let her rest," Aryanna's voice came fron the kitchen, addressing Kyle.

"Fine."

He stood up and sat down next to me on the couch.

I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.

"Jess, Jess wake up," I felt someone's hand shaking me slightly, but enough to wake me up.

I opened my eyes and realized that it was dark out now.

The smell of chicken hit me hard.

My stomach grumbled louded, making me realize how hungry I really was.

"You hungry?" Aryanna's mother-like voice snapped me out of my daze.

"Yea," my throat felt a whole lot better than it did before.

"Okay, Kyle went to bed. I'll heat up your food, okay?"

"Okay," I smiled at her.

She was doing so much for me, and yet in a normal situation, she would be like an annoying older sister.

I sat down at the table while she stuck my plate in the microwave.

"Here you go," she said to me as she placed the plate in front of me.

"Thank you."

"Now," she sat down in front of me and had a serious look on her face, "you have some explaining to do."

I gave her a confused look as I stick a piece of chicken in my mouth.

"Kyle went to get you, but when he came back, you were shaking violently. He was so scared, he stayed home from school yesterday just to stay with you."

"I was hyperventilating?"

"Uh-huh, you remember why?"

I zoned out.

"Jess?"

"I don't know what you're talking about. I went to bed last night and I woke up here in a lot of pain. That's all I know," of course I was lying, but how do you tell someone that you were being followed and attacked by Slenderman without them wanting to put you in a mental hospital?

"Really?"

"Uh-hum," I said through a mouthful of chicken.

"Alright, I can live with that."

She walked into another room and left me eating at the table. I released a breath that I didn't even know I was holding in.

They're gonna find out sooner or later, and for my sake, I hope it's later.
