Me and Kyle spent the rest of the day in the police station getting questioned.

Mosty I was the one getting questioned because I was the one who got molested.

By the time we were allowed to go home, it was around ten-thirty at night.

"Hey, Jess? You alright? You haven't said a word to me since we got in the car."

"I have nothing to say to you," I continued to look in the opposite direction, out the window.

"Why are you so mad at me? Im not the one who violated you!"

"Yea, but you are the one who just sat there and watched as your girlfriend got sexually assaulted and, wait, what did you do to help me? Oh thats right! Nothing!"

He pulled the car over to the side of the road and looked at me hurt.

"Jess. What do you want me to do? I've already apologized. I just...I didn't know what to do - how to help you. Please...I'm sorry."

I still didn't look at him.

But just out of the corner of my eye, I saw headlights.

But not normal headlights. Almost...ghostly.

Shadow headlights.

"Motherfuckers!" I screamed out loud and I startled Kyle in the process.

He looked forward and saw the headlights.

"Shit!" He shifted the gears to go in reverse, but the Nightmares had other plans.

"Don't!" I screamed at him. Too late.

We were jolted forward and strait into the headlights.

"Wisp! Help!"

Just as I said her name, me and Kyle were somehow teleported out of the car and to the side of the street just as the two vehicles collided.

We were welcomed to the sound of crushed metal and burning rubber.

Oh, yea. The cars kinda did a mini explosion causing them both to catch fire.

"What the fuck just happened?"

I looked over to Kyle who was starting at me like I was radioactive or something.

I sighed, "I think its about time I told you."

And so began the long explanation as well as the much longer walk home.

"So.....there are these.....things? Shadows.....that haunt you in both your dreams and when you're awake? And what happened back there was just another attack?"

I purked my lips out and nodded my head, "Yep, that pretty much sums it up."

"I find that hard to believe."

I stopped and, noticing that I was no longer walking with him, so did Kyle.

"So you're telling me that we were just almost killed by a mysterious truck that came out of no where, and then when I screamed the name of the shadow person who is trying to help me, we both got teleported out of the car just in time to watch as they both exploded. And when I tell you why it happened, you don't believe me? I find that hard to believe."

We walked in silence for about ten minutes before he spoke.

"If you have nightmares that triger things in your normal life, why not just wake up?"

I couldn't help what I did next.

I burst out laughing so hard that my stomach hurt.

"I-I'm sorry, but try to wake up?" I laughed again.

"How is that funny?"

"Because it's not up to her when she gets to wake up."

When I heard her voice I stopped laughing.

I turned around and came face-to-face with Wisp.

Kyle turned around too. But his reaction was one that I should have had on tape.

"Holly shitballs!" Kyle stumbled backwards and landed flat on his back.

"Jesus Christ, stop acting all scared. She's the one that got us out of the car."

"And 'holly shitballs'? Really? Who says that?"

"Apparently, my boyfriend," I preceded to introduce the both of them to each other.

Then we all walked back to my house.

"So, if I sleep with you tonight you think that they won't do anything."

"Right," I smiled. He was finally getting it.

"Okay, I can do that."

"On one condition! You keep your pants on!" It was a dirty joke, I know. But I felt like it was necessary.

He snickered at my comment, "I can work with that."

"Why don't you two kiss while you're at it?"

Just as she said it, Kyle leaned in for a kiss, but I tilted my head back preventing him from kissing me.

"Oh my god! You just got rejected!" Wisp started laughing.

Wisp left after she calmed down and stopped laughing.

We went into my house and I got dressed for bed: A back tank-top and some gray shorts.

Kyle just took off his shirt and socks which left him in just his jeans.

Me and Kyle crawled into my bed together and he pullede into an embrace.

"Are you okay? You're shaking," he asked me with concern in his voice.

I didn't even notice until he said anything how badly I was shaking.

"I'm afraid to go to sleep."

He hugged me tighter and I pressed myself against his chest.

"I'm not gonna leave you, Jess. I'm gonna help you, this time. I promise."

I looked up at him and smiled.

A few minutes later, I was sleeping deeply.

When I opened my eyes I found myself on the same road.

Three choices.

But who the choices were frightened me deeply.
