I look at Katniss. She looks at me.

"who was it today?" she asks.

"Cato." I reply. "how about you?" I bring myself to say.

She replies, "rue." We both dread the days of the hunger games. Every night, we both have nightmares of the tributes, from both the 74th, and the 75th hunger games. We don't want our children to know about our pain. We just want them to live a good, joyful life, and not have to worry about us.

But we know they will find out someday. I lean over, and hug her. I love her. I hope I don't ever lose her.

"We should get up and feed the children." I say. Katniss says,

"Just one last kiss." We both lean in. As we kiss, the sunlight comes streaming through the window, and I know we'll have a good day.
