OStar turned in her sleep, her head aching. "Ooog, what happened?" she thought, sitting up. Everything seemed to be calm around here, from the low light to the overall atmosphere. There were many beds, almost like a medical room, in fact, that's exactly what it was. Roxxan poked up from next to her. "Had a good rest?" She asked.
"What happened?" OStar replied.
"For some reason, you passed out shortly after Rual managed to wake me back up. I think you had a concussion or something when Mila knocked you off," Roxxan explained.
"So the conversation I had with Silver was in a dream!" OStar realized, surprised. "Anyways, I made sure you were okay with no other serious injuries. You just need rest now," "What about Avaro and Lucerne?" "Fine," Roxxan replied, "Their cuts weren't too bad, easy fix. They went back to their own room,"
OStar nodded slightly, understanding.
"You should go back to bed, it's already late," Roxxan said, heading out the door.
"Wait, it's already night??" OStar exclaimed. The robot nodded, "Yep, it's almost ten PM," she said, pointing to a clock. Indeed it was late, nine forty-two.
"I'll be back in the morning to double check for any more injuries and give you some food, other than that, goodnight," Roxxan finished before exiting the room and closing the door before OStar could stop her.
"...I guess I just have to try out what Silver said..." she murmured to herself, grabbing the red locket around her neck and lifting it off over her head.
She examined it for a moment, uncertain, before finally opening it.
Nothing happened.
"Guess it wasn't one of those portal things after all..." OStar sighed, disappointed. "Either that or it's already been used up..." She set the locket aside and lay back down, blinking at the wall.
For a long moment, nothing happened, until a sharp prod in OStar's cheek stole her attention from the wall. "Silver! What?"
"You did it all wrong!" Silver hissed but looked not at all irritated or angry.
"How do you expect to make a portal without having it led to anywhere? That's like putting a door on a brick wall, it doesn't work!"
"Then how do you expect me to work this thing?" OStar asked, looking down at the locket that was somehow back around her neck. "I can't really think of a location when OCTown is the only place I remember,"
Silver frowned, realizing she was right. "...Maybe try using it to go to the living room?" She offered.
OStar thought for a moment.
"And what if that doesn't work?" She questioned with a flick of her ear.
"Then when the others go to another universe with you, try making the portal back here yourself,"
"I don't even know when that would be..." OStar thought, filled with disappointment.
"Hopefully soon," Silver replied to the thought, "you can even ask them to go somewhere if you want,"
"Avaro did mention someone named Mystic, maybe I could ask him about that,"
"Great idea!" The little cat jumped and flew off unexpectedly.
"Hey wait!" OStar exclaimed, scrambling after Silver who had already phased through the door and left. Once through the door herself, she froze. She was no longer in the mansion, instead she was back in the odd pitch-black place.
"...Silver?" OStar tried calling out.
No response.
She backed up, hoping to go back into her room, but the door was gone.
OStar shivered and sat down, oddly too afraid to move.
"What happened? Where did Silver go? How did I get here?" She thought, looking around and hoping she could see someone or something.
But only darkness stared back.
OStar sat there for a long moment before remembering the man she saw the last time she was here.
"Maybe he's still here!" She got up but stopped, suddenly realizing she had no idea where to go.
"...How did I find him last time??" OStar looked down at her paws in confusion but felt no tugging or guidance in any specific direction.
"Is there any point of me being here at all?!" She yowled into the abyss.
Silence.
With a heavy sigh, OStar flopped on her belly on the ground, tired.
"Can't I just sleep normally...?" She mumbled to herself.
"Can you?" A voice hissed.
OStar shot up, snapping her head around in the direction of the voice.
But nothing was there.
"Who said that? Where are you?!" She called out, fur bristling.
"You shouldn't be here OStar. You're not ready," the voice continued in a new location.
OStar spun around, finding nothing.
"What do you mean not ready??" She asked.
"Go home OStar. Go home,"
Without another word OStar was snapped out of the dream.
