"A coverup?" Charlotte frowned, not believing it. Not once had OStar seemed strange, nothing looked to be fake. She must be incredibly smart to be able to play off all this, it didn't make sense. Sure there were times she acted strange, but OStar had just explained all that before Lunch.
"THAT'S IT, DAMMIT. LUCERNE, LETS GO!" Avaro snapped, motioning his celestial friend to follow as he stormed off. "H-Huh?" Lucerne stammered, following in confusion.
"Make a fucking portal to the elemental world," he hissed. "Now."
Lucerne stammered some more before taking a deep breath and lifting a hand to open a portal.
"Are you seriously just going to leave?!" Rual cried, looking irritated.
Charlotte had never seen him irritated at someone, only at occasional objects. This was something new, and she had no idea how to react.
Avaro ignored the shifl and went through the portal, Lucerne trailing behind him. Rual stayed where he was, watching the portal close.
"Goddammit," Roxxan huffed, shaking her head as Estella blinked in confusion.
Did the others think the same as Charlotte? Rual sure does, otherwise he wouldn't have backed OStar. But what about Lucerne? Did he think OStar was evil? Is that why he let Avaro leave and followed him?
What about Afina and Roxxan?
Charlotte looked down at the little cat, who also was sitting in confusion and disbelief, but it was impossible to read her mind.
"But what about OStar?" the teen turned to the white cat curled up on the ground, shaking.
"OStar...?" Charlotte said, concerned, as the others looked over as well.
OStar didn't reply, staying silent.
"Is she okay?" Afina mewed, her voice quivering with fear.
"I don't know," Charlotte responded, moving over and bending down to nudge her friend.
But before her hand made contact, there was a sudden blinding light. She yelped and pulled back, closing her eye while covering the other. The light only lasted a few seconds before fading. Charlotte moved her hand away from her face once it was gone, blinking in confusion.
OStar was gone... Changed?
Two cats stood in the place where her friend was lying moments before. There was a white one, similar to OStar but noticeably different, and a black and red one. Both looked confused at first, but the black one seemed to recover quickly before turning and fleeing.
"Hey!" Charlotte called out but couldn't do anything. The cat was already opening the front door and jumping off into the air.
"Uh..." the other one meowed, staying where she was.
"What the hell was that?!" Roxxan growled, storming to the door. "She didn't even close the door!"
"Where did OStar go?!" Afina wailed.
"OStar?!" Estella joined in.
"Great trees," Rual sighed.
"Okay everyone, just SHUT UP!" Charlotte yelled as Roxxan closed the front door.
Silence.
"Relax, we'll figure out what happened soon. Freaking out won't do anything," Charlotte said, facing the last cat. Luckily, she'd stayed put, waiting silently for the others.
"Care to explain?"
"Explain what?" she mewed in a voice that was slightly higher pitched than OStar's.
"What happened and who are you?" Charlotte questioned, trying not to sound hostile.
"I'm Pargenti."
"I know that name!" Afina interrupted.
Everyone turned to look at the small cat. "Uhh... OStar said her name when I woke her up, sorry," she apologized, shuffling her paws.
"It's alright," Charlotte sighed, going back to Pargenti. "Continue."
"Well, honestly, I have no idea what happened. I was just a part of OStar's mind," Pargenti explained, looking around.
"You just lived in OStar's mind with your own mind?" Roxxan asked, not understanding.
"I guess so," the other cat replied with an innocent smile, making Roxxan groan. "I've heard some of OStar's thoughts. I believe she thought of me as her creation side... Oh! Oh! Hold on!" Pargenti bounced and sat down before raising her paws. Everyone watched as her forepaws started glowing similar to OStar's creation magic.
Rual gaped, his eyes lighting up.
"Ah! I do have it!" Pargenti exclaimed, beaming.
"I got it!" Charlotte's friend said at the same time.
"Got what? I have an idea, but eh," Roxxan huffed. "I got nothing," Estella mewed. "Same," Afina added.
"OStar was said to have an unbalanced soul, made of two magics, she must've grown so unbalanced that she split!" Rual explained, his face bright with accomplishment.
"Okay, that makes more sense," the princess purred while Afina nodded.
"I guess so," Pargenti chuckled, too busy examining her own paws.
"Is this what it is like to have a body? Your own body? OStar's didn't really feel right," she meowed, lost in her own thoughts.
"Uh, I guess?" Charlotte answered, trying to get her head around what had happened. "So OStar's soul split into two. Pargenti and..?"
"Fluffy."
"Fluffy?"
"Yep! Fluffy!"
Charlotte exchanged a glance with Roxxan, both trying hard not to laugh.
"That's a funny name for someone who is, if I am correct, OStar's destruction side," she said, the robot nodding her agreement.
"Well she wanted to be called 'Cat', but I like Fluffy better," Pargenti snickered.
"She has a sense of humor," Charlotte chuckled. "She's like OStar."
"Sure! Except Fluffy called me the stupider one. Anyways, weren't there two more friends of hers?"
Everyone winced.
"Well, yeah... But they are busy right now. Working in the elemental world," Rual lied before anyone else could.
"Oh, can I meet them?"
"No."
"Oh..." Pargenti's head drooped, frowning.
"Hey, why don't you tell us what Fluffy is like. Why'd she leave?" Charlotte questioned, sitting down next to the creation cat and patting her back.
"She's mean, always making fun of everyone and being bossy," Pargenti answered with a pout. "But she's all talk and no action. She probably ran off out of fear of actually meeting the ones she made fun of."
"That sounds good, not as dangerous as I thought" Charlotte chuckled.
"She's just mean, not dangerous. She never laid a claw on me," Pargenti laughed, ruffling her wings.
The teen grinned and looked around at her friends who all looked just as relieved. After all the things they learned from the box, it wouldn't be surprising if Fluffy was a destructive crazy beast. But it appeared that she was nothing more than a spoiled brat.
"But what about OStar? Is she dead?" Afina mewed quietly, her tail curled tightly around her paws.
"I don't think so," Rual quickly said before the others could panic.
"She split, if we put the halves together, she should come back," he added afterwards.
"I mean, it makes sense," Charlotte replied. "Too bad one ran off."
"Oh... Right..." the shifl frowned.
"Ah, that's GREAT!" Roxxan grumbled.
"Oh, it can't be that bad. Pargenti seems to be a kind friend," Estella purred. "Can't we just relax for a moment and get to know her more?" she offered.
Everyone exchanged glances, uncertain.
"Estella is right, we have all been through enough. We're not forgetting about OStar, just taking a short break," Roxxan said, nodding to her partner.
Charlotte frowned, not exactly liking the idea about doing nothing to help OStar at the moment. But they have been through a lot in the span of a few days. Fluffy didn't seem likely to cause too much trouble and Pargenti wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. A break wouldn't hurt.
"Sorry, OStar... We'll bring you back as soon as possible, after we get everything together," Charlotte thought, nodding to Roxxan.
"Great, perfect, I am going to take a nap," the robot yawned, padding off.
"I'm staying to get to know Pargenti more," Estella added, sliding over to get in between Charlotte and Pargenti.
Rual sighed and sat down, planning only to listen.
Charlotte scooted over to give the princess space, chuckling slightly.
"Just relax, that's what's important now. Then OStar. Easier to plan with a clear head,"

Cat rose higher into the sky, fleeing the town. She hated this force field, making her feel weak and nice. As if causing pain and suffering were pointless.
That's wrong.
Cat was made to destroy and as long as she holds that half of OStar, she has the magic, too. It won't be easy to pry it away from her. Pargenti was too pathetic to understand what was going on, what is happening and going to happen.
Cat knew OStar was going to split, the halves were growing stronger thanks to the unstable soul. Whatever had happened to OStar, whatever had made her slowly forget everything, triggered their growth once it was done. It didn't take a mastermind to realize that.
"I wish she had learned a little more before then," Cat grumbled, getting close to the edge of the town.
Now that they are split, OStar's memories are locked away completely. Whatever they know now is all they ever will unless they recombine.
Cat didn't want that.
She liked being free, being herself, doing whatever she wanted to do, not stuck in someone else's mind with an idiot who tripps over her own paws.
All Cat needs to do is get out of this force field. Then she will feel like herself and have her own thoughts, not these twisted ideas this hidden magic was giving her.
Was it she who destroyed OStar's world?
Impossible. Cat never existed then as far as she knew. How that world fell apart would remain a mystery for now. "If I find answers, I will take them. In a way it's still my world. I'd like to know where I technically came from,"
Cat shivered as she passed through the invisible wall, her breath getting caught in her own throat.
It felt like shackles had been ripped off her paws, a weight lifted from her wings. Now she was absolutely free.
New ideas and plans she would never have thought of in OCTown were filling her head. She had realizations of new abilities only special to Cat, new urges to use them. So many new things.
Cat started chuckling, slowly breaking out into a louder cackle.
"I'm free... I'M FREE! FINALLY!" she cheered, flipping in the air.
"What should I do now? I lose this freedom if I go in there," Cat mumbled, looking back at the town. So many people, so many people she could've hurt. She didn't want to just kill them, she wanted to make them suffer, drive them insane until they ended their own lives. That thought pleased her. All these new thoughts pleased her, as well as disappointed her. If Cat wanted to hurt someone, they would have to be outside of town. Unluckily, Pargenti was the lucky one who ended up with the portal necklace. "She probably won't even realize she's wearing it in that silver mane of hers. Typical idiot."
Cat rolled her eyes, lowering down to the ground. Despite being unable to hurt anyone at the moment, she couldn't help but wear a big grin on her face. Her thoughts were already entertaining, the real thing must be so much better.
Padding off to the forest, Cat went to explore, looking around at the plants surrounding her. This is her home for now, so she'll need a good hiding place. "Get settled, then plan."
Cat chuckled to herself, going through all the people she wanted to hurt.
Charlotte. Avaro. Lucerne.
All those people OStar called her "friends", she wanted to make them all suffer. They never did anything bad to Cat, they were just OStar's friends. She would be thrilled to see the looks on their faces as they realized OStar really did have evil inside her. Literally.
The thought of hurting random strangers didn't feel nearly as fun, she didn't know anything about them or their fears and insecurities. Boston was only a target because he was a lying scumbag. He would be one of the last people Cat would visit. She wanted to work with the mansion people first.
Of all the people OStar had befriended, the easiest one would be...
"Charlotte."
The older teen held a lot of dark secrets. Cat wanted to pry those out and use them to her advantage, just to see what would happen.
"Look out, OStar. You tried to hold me back but failed. Whatever happened to you in your past, I don't care. I just know that it all has led up to my freedom. And I will make sure I have as much fun as I can until I die."
