Chapter 8

"Haeryn ah, can I come in for a cup of coffee?"

Jae tugs onto my hands lightly as he looks at me so lovingly. He had walked me home from work and obviously is trying to move to the next level in this relationship.

'I'm tired..next time maybe'

Smiling back at him, I pull my hands away.

"Then let's just sit at the bench over there for a while okay?"

My gaze followed as he points to a bench near my apartment and I nodded hesitantly. He beams and holds my hand leading the way.

"It's almost one month now, isn't it...I wish I can hold your hands like this forever."

I hear him say as he pulled me into an embrace. I shut my eyes close, my hands pat his back lightly.

'...Jae, I..'

"Haeryn ah, my sweetheart, let me just hug you for a while."

I sigh as he tightened his hug and I just nod my head silently in his embrace.

"Haeryn, I know you don't feel the same way as I do...but just let me stay with you..."

He whispered by my ear before pulling away to look at me.

'...that's not fair for you too Jae'

I watch as he frowns at my words, his grip tightening around my wrist as he pulled me roughly back into his embrace. My heart skips a beat as he held me tight in place and I couldn't push away even when I tried.

"I say, let. me. stay. with. you"

I heard him grind his teeth as he mutters out each word carefully into my ear.

'Jae, let me go!'

Struggling, I try loosening away from him to no avail. He tightens his grip around me even more than it is starting to hurt. Why is he doing this? My gaze went up to meet his and notice that his brows tightened and he looked really angry.

'Jae! You're hurting me..let me go!'

I tried pushing away again as a tear rolled down my cheek. I guess I must be really frightened.

"I'm sorry, Haeryn! Did I hurt you? Are you in pain? I'm so sorry Haeryn, I didn't mean it! I just...I just worry that I'll lose you..."

I watch as his eyes return to the soft gaze I was familiar with and he panicked as he rubs my wrist that he grabs hold of earlier. Confused, I just stayed silent as he continues to apologize.
