Chapter 23

I recheck my phone again for the hundredth time since my last message yesterday, and he didn't reply.

Frustrated with my own stupidity, I slam the phone down on the counter as I tried to focus on my job. Of course, he doesn't feel the same way as me, we only got together like what? Three days? Why did I have to send that stupid message?

"Who are you angry at?"

Startled, I jump in my seat with Jae standing beside me. Was I too focus on my thoughts or did he not make any noise walking over?

'...nothing'

I shook my head before turning back to my desk and pretend to be busy with some documents.

"So Park Seo Joon check out yesterday huh? Things didn't go well between the two of you?"

My hands stop fidgeting and look back up at him.

'None of your business'

I mutter. Standing up, I grab my phone and walk away.

"I'll send you home after work!"

I groan in frustration and ignored him, trying to walk away as quickly as I could.

*I was just fooling around..haha..*

I type and hesitate to push the send button. Do I really need to pretend like it was a joke? Pressing on the erase button instead, I look at my empty keyboard.

I type again and pause at the message. My heart definitely didn't feel okay with this...erasing the message again, I stare at the chatbox.

Frustrated, I press the chatting app close and threw my phone into my bag and lock my locker shut. A tear form in my eye as I wipe it dry before it had a chance to drip down my cheek.

Maybe if I pretend hard enough, everything will turn out okay.
