Chapter 6

'Good night sir, how may I assist you?'

Smiling at the couple across the counter, my days have been as normal as they can be. With the new year crowd gone, the work in the hotel is much more manageable.

Three months have gone by since crossing paths with Park Seo Joon, and some days I questioned myself if it really did happen. One thing for sure though, having sex with him didn't help me at getting over him and fall in love with other men. If not at all, I was simply craving for him even more than ever.

But it's not like I expected anything else from him. If anything after that day, I knew why he had come all the way to this side of the country and it was for a girl. That tears that night and the drunken state he was in, it was all for her.

"Haeryn, what do you want for dinner?"

Passing the keys over to the couple earlier, I smile slightly as my gaze turns over to Jae. Trying to be a couple with him is tough - long story short, it was his idea that this should be the return for the favor I owed him. And although I could care less that he had covered for me, I just thought that maybe as days went by I might feel something for him. 

'Pasta?'

I replied simply as he walks over to me, his hands patting my head while smiling at me sweetly. I mean, Jae is a pretty neat-looking guy. He was easy on the eyes with a simple personality that I can figure out with a blink of an eye. So when he insisted for us to try to be a couple, I went along with it with the condition that we will review what we are after a month's time. It seems fair enough. 

"Okay, I'll buy you your favorite shrimp pesto pasta then."

Moving carefully away from his fingers that have come through my hair and sat near the sides of my neck, I nodded and pack my bag for the end of the shift. It was easy for me to realize soon enough that I wasn't feeling anything for Jae. I'm simply waiting for the end of the month to confirm that to him.

"Suite please"

Startled, I bump my head as a voice appeared above the counter while I was bending down to pack my things.

"Yes sir, let me assist you"

"I thought I made myself clear that I only want the lady in this counter to be of my service"

Panic goes through me as I frantically stood up and push my bag to a corner. I gasp as I look at his handsome face not knowing what to do with this sudden turn of events.

"I said, suite please"

Blinking my eyes, I nodded as I come to my senses and did a quick run-through in the system to retrieve his previous details. 

'Yes Mr. Park, your suite will be ready in a minute'

Clearing my throat, I walk over to the keys and get them ready for him. My gaze went back to him but he had his eyes on Jae. I turn my attention to Jae and notice that he was looking at me with a confusing look on his face. Smiling back awkwardly at Jae I turn back to look at him to find his gaze on me before looking away.

'Suite 104 is ready for you Mr. Park, and your duration of stay?'

Taking a deep breath, I walk back with the keys and hand them over to him. 

"Seven days"

'Noted, thank you, and have a good night'

I nodded my head in response and keyed in the final details. When I look up, he is already gone.

"What's with him?"

I arch my eyebrows and shrug my shoulders at Jae's question. 

"Alright, let's go. Nana and Soon-yu will be taking over soon. I'll send you home after dinner"

'Okay, let's go'

Jae's hand reaches out to grab hold of mine before putting them into his coat pocket. Turning his gaze to mine, I smile back in return to his smile, trying to push away any traces of thoughts left of Park Seo Joon.
