Chapter 49

'...why is there no one around?'

Slowing down, I suspiciously look around the mall. We have just made our way into the entrance of the mall and although it is all bright and shops are all open wide, the lack of noise is making it very obvious...and scary if I may add in.

"Which shop should we do first?"

He seems to not be at all worried about this weird scenario we are in. His hands still holding onto mine firmly as he guided us into a clothing store.

Looking around, there is literally no one around. Not even the cashier. I return my gaze to his satisfied and proud smile.

'Park Seo Joon...it cannot be right? I mean, there's no way you are this rich and powerful to make everyone disappear right? And surely even if you are THIS rich and powerful, you wouldn't have abuse your wealth and power to do THIS?'

His proud smile disappear instantly after I spat out the last sentence. My eyes shot open once I realize it is really his doing.

'Why?!'

I ask out loud as million of questions and doubts run through my head. How did he pull this off? Wouldn't this attract even more curiosity? How rich and powerful is he exactly? What kind of connections does he have? Is he freaking crazy?!

"...Did you just say I abused my wealth and power?"

Clearly he isn't on the same page as I am. He is staring back at me in shock, I guess still not able to accept my criticism.

'...I mean...'

Still shock, I wave around at the empty store trying to prove my point.

"...well, maybe a little...but isn't this perfect for your plan of being my secret girlfriend?"

I rolled my eyes at his reply. Is this his way of getting back at me? Pulling me into his embrace, he look at me with his puppy eyes.

'It feels like we are from two different world every time you pull something like this off.'

"There is only one world Haeryn...and in this one world, I love you and you love me"

'...You do realize that this isn't a normal date?'

"...well, it is OUR date."

'Park Seo Joon...you surely knows how to sweet talk your way out don't you?'

"Maybe you feel so because i'm speaking the truth"

Rolling my eyes once again, I slap his arms and push him off to take a good look of how an empty mall looks like.

'I appreciate this...grand gesture, but promise me you won't do this again'

Trying to find the correct words for this is a little too tough for my dictionary. And honestly? It scares me...more than a little, to see the extend of his capabilities which I'll never ever dare dream of, not even while being in a relationship with my dream man. 

"I'm sorry if this burden you... It's my first time trying to pull such a thing off, looking at your horrific expression now this must not be a good idea."

'You mean, this is not normal for you either?'

"Of course it's not, I just thought it would be a great surprise and you will love it..."

Relieved with his explanation, I let go of my breathe that I was unconsciously holding in and felt my body relaxed. 

'I love it. I really do, I was just worried that THIS is your normal and if I won't be able to keep up with it.'

"Did you think you are dating a king?"

I grin awkwardly and hop closer to hug onto his arms. His grin return as he knock his knuckles on my head as if to clear my mind off the silly worries and that almost minor heart attack I almost had in that moment.

"Can we go ahead with our precious date that I have abused my wealth and power for?"

'Oppa...I'm sorry'

I look at him with the best puppy eyes I manage to pull off and he chuckle aloud.
