Graduation day was over and having returned home to Qing Qiu to celebrate with her family, Bai Qian was eager to begin weaving her first list of Mortals. Si Ming was going to continue being her overseer for the rest of their lives and under him she'd had a ton of fun. But she had also learned responsibility, that one important lesson she never learned under Mo Yuan.
Sitting with her family in the Peach Tree Grove drinking wine and listening to the happy chatter, she realized she really had changed so much. Because for one, she was too busy thinking about her Mortals rather than enjoying herself and in a way, she found herself mirroring Si Mings quiet yet distant demeanor. He never really joined in on celebrations, instead preferring to stand back to listen and watch.
When she had asked him why, the answer he gave her was what fully set her onto the path of a weaver.
"You learn far more about the human condition when you're not a part of it." he had replied when he noticed how much she wanted to jump in among the crowd and make a merry scene.
But standing back with him, she soon learned all there was to know about relationships, love, jealousy, anger and all manner of emotions which he used in as prompts for his weaving and this was exactly what she was doing as her family jokingly talked about marrying her brother Bai Zhen off to a young Immortal she had met during her time in the Celestial Heavens.
In fact, before the reset, she would have had no qualms in marrying him off to that girl even though it was well known that she preferred girls and his brother did not. The thought of it was hilarious and for a moment she lost herself to the fun as her brother blushed heavily and began to throw insutlts at Zhe Yan who was the instigator of their fun.
But the laughter soon turned as the conversation moved towards her.
"If anyone is going to marry first it has to be Xiao Wu, shes the next heir to our throne and will need and heir to continue it." he blurted out over the Zhe Yans insane laughter.
And instantly the attention turned to her. Standing a little away from her family but still close enough to feel involved, she soon found herself under the spotlight as her fathers merry eyes began to dance.
"Actually, you're right. You will be the next one to marry and it just so happens that a certain gentleman has won your hand." he said as her mothers eyes began to glisten and the rest turned towards her with all knowing looks.
"Oh?" she merely replied even though her heart was bouncing about in her chest as that certain gentleman came to mind.
"Yes and speak of the Devil, here he is now." Zhe Yan said rising from the stone table to look out into the Grove.
Instantly her head whipped around, but seeing nothing, she expected the laughter to start up again having successfully made her jump.
But no sooner did she move to look back at him for getting her excited, then that royal blue robe that she loved out of all his robes, came into view.
Mo Yuan had been in the Grove for some time, though he had wanted to take a walk to calm himself down. He was nervous, because even though he had already made it clear to her that he was claiming her for himself, he knew she'd had plenty of opportunities to meet other younger men closer to her own age and knowing how mischievous Si Ming could be, he'd had to put his trust in her desire for him, in the hope that it would remain strong.
For twenty thousand years she had remained his student before Di Jun deemed her worthy of a graduation and he had seen for himself just how much she had grown. She still had that flare of mischief which never left her, but she was in control of it, knew when she could get away with using it, and when she did, it was as grand as it was before the reset.
