Chapter 21- The Data disc

After hours wrecker and I snuck out to meet Kat at HQ, She didn't give much but she said we needed to see this and to come over right away. So as promised we arrived Kat sat in her chair as she spotted us she rolled towards us. "YOU MUST SEE THIS!" She rolled back to her computer, "What's this about four eyes?" Wrecker said softly sitting on the table still holding his side. "Well I finally did it..."

"You got in the files?!" I asked

"yOu gOT iN tHe fIleS? YES I GOT IN THE FILES .. it took 4 different algorithms and Two decryption passwords but I did it..and you wouldn't believe what I found." Kat fixed her glasses pulling up on the projector the files.
"These are lists of Live contracts and targets they still want dead others are passed targets that are terminated. That's not all it all goes from drugs and contraband to gunrunning and illegal shipping docks even as much as sex trafficking.. and list of all company's and CEO businesses that work with these guys.. THATS WHY THEY'RE HARD TO FIND...they got their own NETWORK systems." She looked back at the screen.

"Tell me something I don't know." Wrecker folded his arms

"Then hows this I found Mels file.." she looked at me as my attention was fully pulled towards the screen waiting to see. She paused and looked at me "what are you waiting for?! Let me see.." I said my nerves shaky.

"Jio... I want you to know..it was hard to find it..but when I discovered it I found out why.."

"just show me Kat!"

"His file isn't saved for Red X ...." she stared at me I stood there looking back at her my body feeling warm and heavy. She turned the screen to the projector to show The file  "Target Killer-X , file number 194490.." Kat read to me her eyes softly closing, pictures of Mel on the roof of a building taking off his mask. I felt sick as Mel stood there completely unaware that he was being watched. "They were...after me.. I was..right.."

"It's not your fault.. Jio.. it's not.."

"This file says other wise...it's my name...my target..my contract ..with Mel at the wrong place at the wrong time..." my heart sank thinking of it "Who killed him!?" I shouted gripping onto one of the stray arrows on the desk.  "There's no specific name they all use backup names ..The person that killed Melo their name is Code black..." she answered I sat down the arrow in my hand snapping in half. "Where is he you can find him right!?"

"That's not as easy as you're making it sound Jio.." Kat said.

"Listen I'll get in touch with some contacts ..see what I can do ok?... we'll catch the son of a bitch I promise .." Wrecker rested his hand on my shoulder and picked up his phone walking out.
I sat there as Kat rolled over to me "we'll get this asshole... I trust you... I'll see what I can do." Like that I was in the zone I began training non stop I began practicing with wrecker with the katana for the next couple days. At school I still couldn't think straight we were so close yet so far, Emily caught up to me "Hey how's Wrecker feeling?"

"Huh? Oh he's been fine sometimes he pushes it to much and it makes it worst but I tried everything he doesn't listen." I looked down Emily noticed how out of it I was and she snapped her fingers "Yo you good? What's wrong Jio?"

"I'm sorry."

"What's wrong?" She asked her eyes scanning me up and down. I softly looked at her "Em...we..found mels killer.."

"That's good! That's great Jio!" She smiles her eyes lighting up but then her smile slowly faded. "It's not though isn't it.." she spoke I slowly shook my head No. "cause you don't want him in a cell.." Her eyes softly stared down at the ground. "I have too.." I answered.

"But are you ready for it?..you know to do this.."

"Yeah...for what he did..thas not even an option... I was right Em ..he wasn't after mel the target was me..." I looked down. Emily sighed "I know you'll do what your heart decides to follow.. cause in the end that's what makes you ...Jio.." she smiled followed by a hug I hugged back and gave a nod. "Thank you Em...for everything.."
