Chapter 10 - upgrades and a rematch

"Last one in is a Lucy goosed!" Mel raced down the sidewalk after school, I quickly followed behind him kat stared down at her phone as she walked slowly paying no mine to Mel and I acting like idiots. Quickly and harshly I shoved Mel out my way and ran into the HQ building, "hey bro we got a coke machine!" He slid across the room punching the machine as it dropped a couple cans of soda he tossed one my way and I caught it, Looking around I noticed they did the place pretty nice the the computers were set up and a cub space singled out with all weapons me and Mel used. "Whoa you guys went all out." I got smacked in the back of the head by kat "yeah don't touch don't break and please I beg of you no eating food or drinking by the computer set!" She snatched the coke from Mel's hand before he could take a sip out of it.

"Well tell us what you needed to show us." I slowly leaned on the table feeling the effects of my wound which began to turn back into a slow force of agony I prepared another pill.Kat looked at me and smiled widely as she dashed over to a locker and pulled out my duffle bag "HA here you go.." she fixed her glasses a little and gave me the bag. Looking down I could tell it was my normal duffle bag there was no doubt about that it looked a bit more polished then before dirty and roughed up. "Awww kat you uh...cleaned my bag.." my smile slowly turned into a oddly confused expression, she snatched the duffle bag her face flushed with frustration and unzipped it "Now look stupid!"

"No....no..no way... are you serious!?" I slowly and carefully removed a vest like hoodie all black and a new X with the edges shaped in the front, I stared it down rubbing the smooth leather like texture. Mel pulled his out and gazed upon it with a smirk on his face he turned to me and stuck his thumb out.

"Wow this is amazing kat!" I shouted out of excitement

"You and Mel's body plating are both carried within the type the upper parts of the suite it's designed with carbon fibers and titanium casting which is basically enough to take four shotgun shells to the chest  get up and try again." Kat explained.

"Yeah yeah yeah but WHAT KIND OF HOODIE IS THIS!!" I smiled widely Kat hung her head in shame "really that's what you care about it's a vest with hoodie sleeves gio." She face palmed letting a hard sigh escape her breath. I took out what seemed to be my new mask it looked like a mixture of a red hood and dead pool I loved it,
"That's a tactical mask I figured you could use an upgrade then the normal hockey mask. Try not to break this one that was 500 bucks." I quickly nodded and watched Mel put on his, his was more red then black it was a red leather jacket with the vest tucked inside,his was another tactical mask but with a X across the whole front we both jumped and danced around like fangirls "alright dummies suite up tonight you're going on a date with Veronica diktatury." And like that we jumped into our suites I got on my dirt bike and mel got on his, "let's do this bro!" I quickly reved the bikes engine and drove out the small haul in back of the building.

"Gio I think I got something that might spark your interest I think I might of found some connections." Kat said over the com Mel and I positioned ourselves on top of the building. "What'd you get?" Mel asked I sat down stroking my hoodie in amazement. "Well get this all the prostitutes he's been killing they all work for one man Lil-T." Mel began laughing uncontrollably "LIL-T?" he let out another chuckle holding back more I shook my head in shame and gestured him to please stop "continue kat .." I said scanning the area Carefully.

"Well he's a big time drug dealer and pimp someone's after him by killing the women that work for him.. he's already on watch for two murder trials for a missing couple who lives by one of his sells outs and..burning down a church and killing all members of the burns family..." I paused thinking to myself and spoke "they were all found dead?..." kat took a moment to herself  "All except bishop burns..."

"cleansed....reborn...sinner..." Mel uttered then repeated while slapping my arm hard. "Yeah he leaves messages ...they all say the same thing it has to be him right?" I questioned narrowing my eyes towards Mel he glanced back at me "we need to hurry now.." hours of search we were out of luck we gave the thought maybe he took the night off but before we gave up we heard a weak cry while running passing by a bar. Quickly but cautiously we both darted towards the sound to find him slowly rubbing his knife against her face.
