Chapter 22 : Ray of Hope

Jennie's P.O.V

"The three different types of political economy are one.... The market economy. Two.... The command economy and three the mixed economy........ The three different types of political economy are the market economy the command economy....... Argh!!!!!!!!!!! "
I slammed my desk angrily.

"Why is this so hard!?"
I annoyingly asked.

"Jen? You need anything?"
Nayoen unnie entered my room.

I turned towards her and shook my head.

"Were you yelling?"
She asked.

I simply Nodded.

She chuckled, "Well study hard! "
She smiled and closed the door.

I heaved out a long sight and stayed silent getting lost in my own thoughts.

After realisation hit me that I have exams tomorrow I started to study again but instead I ended up crying.

I don't know why I cried.
Maybe it's because I didn't complete my studies for tomorrow......... Or maybe I was missing a particular someone who would make me feel better and motivate me in times like this.

Well I was not allowed to visit her.
Not that I didn't fight back but my unnies will never allow me.

I didn't realise when I fell asleep.

Tzuyu's P.O.V

"Good morning Jennie!"
I said and hugged her.

"Good morning Tzuyu!"
She mumbled and hugged me back.

"Ready for your exam?"
I asked as I faced her.

"I'm going to fail! I didn't study yesterday night!"
She mumbled with no expression in her face.

I knew that she cried last night since she had dark circles on her eyes.

But I simply decided not to talk about it because I'm 100% sure that she will end up crying.

After bell rang I dragged her along with me to the classroom and we started our exams.

I occasionally looked at her and there was something in her face that I couldn't tell.

She seemed to be so lost and distracted.

I wish you can share everything to me Jen!
I thought to myself.

As a best friend, I want to support her and give her a shoulder to cry on but she is not yet ready to open up.

I have noticed that Jennie has changed a lot after Lisa's incident.

The happy, jolly and cheerful Jennie is no more alive now.

Knowing the fact that only Lisa alone can bring that side of Jennie, I still decided not to give up.

I can at least be with her and assure her that everything is going to be fine.

After exams, we went to buy ice creams and later watched a movie.

Jen said that she wanted to visit Lisa.

Actually she begged me for it but I had to distract her from it.

It's not that I don't want her to meet Lisa, but me as well as all our unnies feel that it would be better if Jen does not meet Lisa.

I noticed that Jennie was acting very strange the past few days so I decided to confront her about it.

"Jennie why are you acting weird these days?"
I asked her and I sat down next to her.

"That's not my intention. I just miss Lisa!"
She mumbled.

I immediately hugged her.
"Jennie I'm sorry but I don't want you to meet Lisa for now! I know that this is not fair for you but I promise you, it's for your good Jennie."

She hugged me back, "Just take me to her once please? Please! That's my last wish. Please Tzuyu!"

She started to sob.

I sighted.
"Okay! Get ready, we will go now."

"Thank you"
She smiled at me.

"Gosh! Do you know how much I missed that smile? "
I said and kissed her right cheek.

"You are the best!"
She mumbled and kissed my cheek before running to her closet to get ready.

I have to take her to Lisa.
That's the least I can do for her.

Taehyung's P.O.V

"The doctors said that she can wake up any moment!"
I happily said to Jennie and her eyes sparkled with that.

Till then, this girl has not stopped smiling.

"Yah! I am starting to feel scared you know!"
Jisoo joked earning an eye roll from me.

"I'm just happy!"
Jennie smiled.

"I know that pabo! But you really have to keep that smile on your face? God! Such a bipolar person!"
Jisoo joked.

Jennie ignored her as she held Lisa's hand and continued to smile at her.

I smiled.
It's feels good to see Jennie smile after a decade!

All of us decided to sleep here with Lisa including Jennie and Tzuyu.

Jennie was so happy which made us all feel guilty of not allowing her to meet Lisa for the past few days.

We all formed a circle and played truth or dare.

It was hard to convince everyone to play but that's the least I can do.

If Lisa was here I'm sure she would have done it too.

And as time passed by, there was a little ray of hope inside me saying that everything is going to be fine very soon.
