This is the first time in a while that I've been nervous for a date. Usually I have no interest in the girls I go out with, but Betty is different. I know this started as a bet but I actually want to impress Betty. I was going to tell Sweet Pea today that the bet was off, but he wasn't at school so I'll just have to tell him tomorrow

I took a deep breath before knocking on the Cooper's front door. A woman, who I assume is Betty's mother, opened the door. "Mrs. Cooper?" I asked.

"Yes." She said looking me over.

"I am Jughead Jones. I'm here to see Betty." I explained.

"Elizabeth!" She yelled.

Betty quickly came running down the stairs. "Hi Jughead." She said happily.

I smiled. "Hi Betty."

"I'll be back in a few hours." Betty said to her mom.

"Be careful with my daughter." Mrs. Cooper told me in a serious tone.

"Of course." I told her.

She nodded. "Have fun Betty."

Betty grabbed my hand and started leading me away from the house. "I will. Bye mom!" She yelled before Mrs. Cooper shut the door.

"You look beautiful." I told her.

She smiled at me. "Thank you. So where are we going?" She asked.

"Is Pop's okay?"

She nodded enthusiastically. "It's great! I love Pop's."

I grinned and handed her my helmet.
"Remember to hold on tight." I yelled over the loud engine. She snaked her hands around my waist and I sped of to the diner.

"After you." I told her as I held open the door.

"Thank you." She smiled.

"Betty! Jughead!" Pop exclaimed as we walked in. "Are you guys on a date?" Pop asked, slightly shocked, but smiling.

I chuckled and slipped my hand into Betty's. "Yep."

"Well you two sit wherever you want and I'll be right out." He said happily.

I nodded. "Thanks Pops." Betty said before tugging on my hand and leading me to a booth.

Pops came over and took our order then left. After a moment of silence Betty spoke up. "I'm really glad that you asked me out." She smiled and took my hand in hers across the table.

I blushed. "Me too."

Her smile got wider. "Are you blushing?"

"What, no." I said quickly.

"Did I get the badass, Southside Serpent, Jughead to blush?" She joked.

"No. It's just...a little cold in here." I argued, not willing to admit defeat.

She burst out laughing. "I so made you blush!"

"Shut up." I said, pretending to pout.

Betty was still laughing when a waitress brought us our food. "Okay Betty you need to breathe now so we can eat." I smiled.

She slowly calmed down. "You're kinda cute when you blush." She told me before taking a bite from her burger.

I playfully rolled my eyes and she giggled.

About an hour later the check was placed on our table. I was about to grab it but Betty grabbed it before I could. "Betty, no." I told her trying to grab it from her. "I asked you out so I'm paying for dinner."
