everybody talks [COMPLETED]

twenty five

i immediately grabbed my phone from beside me the moment i woke up. i saw the time and observed that i had woken up a little earlier than usual. it was probably because i didn't have a certain someone keeping me up all night. i also observed that kristin had texted me less than five minutes ago.

kristin: hey, do you want to grab a coffee? i'm free all day until about five tonight.

me: sure, sounds like a plan! when and where?

kristin: is the starbucks by barnes and noble in twenty minutes fine with you?

me: of course!! see you there kris

kristin: yup!

i had no idea what kristin wanted to meet up about, but it didn't really matter. i still wanted to be good friends with her, especially since there was hardly any bad blood, if any at all, after our breakup.

"hey!" kristin waved at me from a table in the starbucks where we had our first date. she had two drinks and a cake pop in front of her. i correctly assumed that one of the drinks was mine.

"i got you your favorite," she said as i sat down. she handed me a caramel frappuccino and i thanked her.

"so," i started, "what's up?"

"alex and i are back together. he bought that i was on my period and, good news, i think i might be pregnant again! i'm going to buy a test later to see."

"that's amazing! i actually have something to tell you."

"what is it?"

"i have a boyfriend."

"oh my god, who is it?" she asked, looking genuinely happy and excited for me.

"that pete guy that was at my house when you came over after the abortion. he's super sweet and i'm going with him as a date to his cousin's wedding in a few days."

"aw, that's amazing! i'm so happy for you!"

"thanks, i appreciate it a lot."
