"what kind of drugs have you been taking, happy pills?" frank asked as soon as he spotted us.

"you could say that," pete responded.

"ok seriously, what's up?"

"i'm going to pete's cousin's wedding as his boyfriend!" i shouted way too loudly. a few faces stared at me for a moment, but the attention didn't last long.

"oh, cool. does that mean he's going to be living in our house now?"

"not yet, but soon enough," i responded. pete smiled and looked at the ground after i spoke.

"when's the wedding, pete?" frank questioned.

"sunday. we have to be there by two, by the way," he informed frank, looking at me whilst saying the last statement.

"sounds good."

"well, i've gotta run. see you soon!" pete almost ran away before i stopped him.

"would you want to set up a double date with kristin and her boyfriend soon?" i whispered to him, making sure frank couldn't hear. i don't think it mattered, though, because he was completely zoned out anyways.

"i'll be there if you text me the time and restaurant by tomorrow afternoon."

i waved goodbye and he finally got a chance to walk out. straight after he left the building, i pulled frank from his empty state of mind by tapping him on the shoulder and saying his name.

"oops, sorry about that. did pete leave already?"

"yeah, you just missed him."

once i was settled and ready for the night, i picked up my phone and laid down on my bed. i saw that i had a message from pete.

me: you are a fourteen year old girl in a nineteen year old man's body i swear to god peter

pete: send more? okay, whatever you say bby

pete:

me: ok now you're a marvel obsessed fourteen year old boy in a nineteen year old man's body

pete: don't test me i have an infinity gauntlet🤬

me: yeah yeah goodnight pete💖see you tomorrow

pete: goodnight mikey💞💓💘
