Grade Nine

It was the end of Grade Nine, all classes were outside on the last day of school for the school's water fight.

April held her water gun closely to her chest as she looked cautiously around her surroundings. Kids were shooting water at each other as she ran.

They're coming for her.

Crap. Why did she do that? They  are so going to kill her!

April looks behind her to see the guy Cleaver running after her and she keeps on running trying to dodge kids in her way. Occasionally she get sprayed by bits of water, but she ignored that as she runs away trying to get to the water refilling station.

She didn't want to die just yet.

Cleaver was catching up to her and April grew more panicky.

Suddenly a hand went out and grabbed her by the arm while the other hand was covering her mouth.

She squirmed in the persons grip and tried to kick her way out.

Did Cleaver catch up to her already?

The person who was holding her captive had dragged her to the backside of the school and had turned her around so she was facing her kidnapper.

It was Cal.

Her eyes widen and Cal put his fingers on her lips to signal her to be quiet. He peers around the corner and her heart starts to rapidly beat.

Not this again!

What's wrong with me? She thinks.

April bears Cleaver's voice pass by and she sags with relief. Cal's hand was still cover her mouth and once again feeling panicky she lifts her leg to kick him away.

This time Cal seemed to be prepared.

He presses his body against her legs to prevent her from moving. When April tries to hit him away, he grabs on her hands and pins them against the wall.

"Your not hitting me again" he says with a smirk. "You know I thought that you would only ever save your snarky remarks for me. Looks like I was wrong. Should had only saved them for me or Cleaver wouldn't be chasing you like a mad man."

April's eyes widen a whole fraction and her breathing hitches.

Cal seeming to see her reaction starts to lean his head closer towards her with a smirk and April closes her eyes bracing for the worst.

Fwwereeeeeee!

April feels her hands get loose, but her freedom came with a price. Cal was spraying her in the face with a hose.

She screamed and yelled out that she was cold.

"JACKASS! I'm freezing cold!" Was all she could manage.

When he didn't stop she yelled "I hate you!"

Cal chuckles and stops spraying her with the hose. He leans in to her ear and whispers "Payback's a bitch."

He runs off after and leaves April dripping wet.

For a few seconds April finally  understands why her heart was beating like a crazy woman this entire time when Cal was around.

She was hopelessly falling in love with him.

"I really really hate him."
