Grade Eight
April was confused. She had never been this confused in her life.
She didn't quite understand why her heart beat faster than normal when she saw Cal. It was all because of that stupid incident in the haunted house last year that made her palms sweaty and nervous when she was around Cal. It wasn't that same casual feeling she had before but now it seemed more nerve wrecking.
Uggggh. She couldn't understand her feelings.
She liked to think that her messed up feelings were the cause of her period. Sometimes there were perks of it. Even if it was a pain it made pretty good excuses.
"What ya doing there?" Cal sneaks up behind me and I jump in my seat.
"Ahhh I see that April here is still a little jumpy." He taunts her.
She scowls and gives him a glare.
He laughs and leans forward leaving only a small amount of space between them. He looks down at her math worksheet not noticing their close proximity.
April sits frozen in her desk as her cheeks flush a deep colour of red. She shakes her head to keep her cheeks from rising to another couple of degrees.
April looks down at her worksheet to ignore the temperature in her cheeks.
Cal looks at her and says something that she did her equation wrong. All April does is stare at him straight in the eyes to only realize that they were a light brown this entire time.
Suddenly someone from behind Cal had knocked into him while he was running around him and had pushed him towards April.
April felt his lips touch hers as he fell forward. She immediately was frozen to her seat and her eyes widen from surprise.
Cal looked at her with shocked eyes and for a few seconds longer they finally comprehended the situation they were in and pulled away from each other.
Cal awkwardly turned around and coughed while April just stared out in space.
April suddenly felt a pit of anger boil inside her front eh confusion of her feelings and what had just happened.
She stood up and shouted at Cal "I HATE YOU!"
Cal stares at her for a while before his face turns angry.
"YEAH WELL I HATE YOU TOO!" He says. "I didn't want to kiss you!" He exclaims.
"But you did anyway and I hate you for it!" She jumps out of desks and runs away.
Cal sighed and touched his lips.
"What the fudging daylights was that?"
