Summer of turning Grade NineCal didn't know what had happened between him and April ever since "that incident." It was a very painful subject matter to even discuss about. The fact that his first kiss was the girl that he had hated since kindergarten was what was so hard to believe and comprehend. The first few weeks since "the incident" had happened, Cal and April had both avoided each other until things fell back to routine such as the occasional bickering and pranks.
Cal was glad he had dumped his cherry soda on April's shirt now.
The summer heat was comforting to Cal as the sun shined on him while he was skateboarding. He angled his body to make a turn as he rounded the corner and just as he turned he crashed into someone.
"Ahhhhhh" he heard a voice say as Cal got up from the gravel and hurried over to the girl he had accidentally crashed into.
"I'm so sorry. Are you all right?"Cal worriedly looks over her until he sees the familiar face of April Lake.
"April?"
"Hey Jackass." She manages to say as she winces in pain."I never thought i hear the day you say sorry to me voluntary." She adds.
Cal frowns "Shut up and let me see where your hurt."
"I hate you even more right now." She says.
Cal rolls his eyes and looks at April's bleeding foot. The wheels of his skateboard had accidentally rolled over her foot and had caused her ankle to bleed.
"It doesn't look that bad." Cal assures April and grabs his water bottle to pour water over her wound.
She squirms around his touch, but Cal holds her firmly.
When he's done Cal looks up at April and says "Thirty dollars for the healing fee."
"You really are a Jackass aren't you?" She says.
She's been calling him that ever since the pop fiasco.
Cal shrugs his shoulders and then they realize their close proximity again. April's eyes widen and she looks like she was going to have a panic attack.
Cal leans forward to ask April is she was okay, but that actions causes April to panic more and kick him in where the sun doesn't shine.
Cal freezes and suddenly slumps sideways in pain. "Urgggggh." Is all he could manage to make out.
April gets up and starts walking back in forth like she's deciding if she wants to help him or not.
"I h-hr-hate you." He breathes out and April calms down at the comment.
April stutters for a moment before saying "W-well it was bound to happen anyways. I'm just surprised it didn't happen any sooner." she defends.
When Cal manages to feel better, he gets back up to only be whacked by my own skateboard.
"owmphh" I say as i fall back down to the ground.
"Don't come near me again!" April says panicky again before running off to the other direction leaving me in the utmost pain ever.
"I hrrrrrate yrrrrrou."
