Diary;

I guess Emmerson and I are officially a couple. We have kissed, we are sharing a bed at the current moment in time, we are sharing a house...we are sharing almost everything except clothes.

I cannot help but to wonder, however, how my beloved family would react to Emmerson if they were still alive and had a chance to meet him. Would my mother like him? Would she admire the way that he stands? Would she admire the way that he treats me? Would my father have taken him hunting in the Carpathians? Would he have allowed him to be my partner the way that my mother's father had done to mine own father? How about sweet Elisabeta? Would she put him to the test by chasing him and making him play with her the way that all fathers should play with their own children?

And, what about my old, childhood friend Alexei? Would the two of them have fought over me? Probably not. I doubted that Alexei would have overly cared. He was strange like that. As for my family, I am sure they would have liked him, if I were still human and they were still alive today.

Emmerson stirred a bit, and sat up as I stretched slightly in the pale moonlight that shone in through one of the basement windows. The light hit Emmerson's face, and for a second he looked like a resting angel. I smiled and tried to stand up for a moment, but Emmerson had caught my wrist and pulled me back down, causing both of us to start laughing.

“Emmerson! I thought that you were sleeping, darling.”

He shrugged sitting up from the mattress. “I was...but I heard you moving about and woke up.”

I smirked and traced his face gently. “Hmm...a human with vampire hearing...very impressive.”

Emmerson laughed, kissing me again. “I'll be right back. I just want to see if the hospital has any twenty-eight day old blood that needs disposing of.”

“May I please go with you?” I asked standing up and smoothing out my dress.

“Sure, why not?” Emmerson stated standing up beside me.

I smiled, excited to see the outside world once again. Emmerson draped his arm over me as the two of us walked up the stairs and headed outside, together as partners.
