October 30th, 2013 EARLIER ENTRY

Morning with Mila was...amazing! She had woken up with matted hair, and sleep-filled eyes. I was already awake when she came upstairs, still dressed in the black dress that she had worn when we first met.

“Good morning.” I stated, putting some bacon onto a frying pan.

“Morning...” Mila whispered. She sniffed the air, and I heard her stomach growl. “That smells wonderful.”

I grinned, and motioned for her to sit, asking; “How would you like you eggs? Sunny side up? Scrambled? Ommlete?”

Mila looked me over, and said; “Scrambled, please?”

I took her in one last time...sleep filled eyes, tangled up and matted dark hair, dress tangled and hugging her body sideways.

Damn! Why did she have to be so fricking hot!?

I nodded, shaking my head mentally, and turned back to the stove, flipping the bacon and scrambling up Mila's eggs. The radio played another one of my favourite songs, and I started singing, and Mila played her violin. I hadn't seen her bring it up, but I wasn't about going to complain. It was nice to have another person around to rock out with. Mila's voice joined mine near the end and I was blown away! Her singing voice was as amazing as her speaking voice!

“Holy cow!” I stated, putting Mila's bacon and scrambled eggs onto her plate. “That was incredible! You are amazing at singing!”

She blushed, puttering her violin away carefully as I placed her plate in front of her. “Thank you...but you are better.”

I laughed, making myself an ommlete. “I wish that I was as good as you!”

She smiled and picked up her fork and started digging into her eggs. I flipped my own bacon when my cell phone vibrated from the counter. It was a text message from Alex's phone...well, her new one at least. It was the tenth one I received forms her since last night. This one read;

Em? Baby? R u ok? Y rnt u tlkin 2 me? i had 2 change my num cuz matt was harassing me. plz txt me bck.

Mila walked over to me and touched my hand gently. “Are you well?”

I sighed and leaned my head back. “Yeah. I'm just trying to figure out how I should answer Alex...”

“Oh...” Mila stated, her hand dropping off mine. I wish she had left it there. My hand feels cold without hers. “Do you still want to be with her?”

I thought for a moment. Truthfully, I wanted nothing to do with Alex anymore. She liked to me, cheated on me, and tossed away the cell phone that I had bought her and paid for myself. I had no real reason to stay with Alex anymore, and Mila did come across as though she liked me...

“No, I don't like her anymore.”

Mila's eyes flashed an emotion, joy or surprise, one of them, but it disappeared as quickly as it appeared, and stated; “Then tell her that. She shouldn't be left hanging out on the clothes line to dry.”

I nodded, and Mila sat back down, munching on her bacon. I texted Alex a quick, and curt reply;

WTF do u want?

I sent it and within a few seconds, she replied to me;

I want u! WTF else!?

I locked my jaw and turned down the heat for the stove so that I could focus on responding to Alex without my breakfast getting burnt.

O, rlly? is tht y somebody found ur phone in the cemetery by the Carpathian mts. and when i get it, uve been sexting matt and tht he told u 2 toss ur phone cuz he got u a new one w/ his num already in it?

I sent it, then took my food off the stove and sat across from Mila. We ate in silence, my heart killing me. Unlike Mila, who is like the night time, Alex would have been like the daytime. With strawberry-blonde hair, green eyes, and a perfectly tanned, curvy body, Alex had stolen my heart. Too bad she broke it.

Mila rinsed her plate, set it nicely on the counter, then walked over and hugged me gently around the shoulders.

“Not that I'm complaining,” I stated, standing up and hugging her back. “But what's this for?”

Mila looked up at me. “I'm giving this heart-broken man a healing hug. Believe me, it works very well, and every time.”

I smiled and her and fought the urge to kiss her. “Thanks, Mila.”

My phone vibrated again from the counter and I reached over and grabbed it as Mila grabbed her violin, sighing, and headed down into the basement. The text was from Alex. It read;

? what? I nvr tossed my phone...

I rolled my eyes and replied;

Alex, i culd txt u frm ur old num right now if i wanted 2. R u rlly gunna pull this crap 2day?

I heard Mila playing her violin downstairs and I smiled. She could make my heart lighter, even when I'm dealing with a bitch of an ex-girlfriend. Seconds later, Alex replied back to me;

...so...?

I locked my jaw and sent her the one text message that I wanted to send her the moment that she started texting me;

We r done, Alex. i already gave ur phone 2 a good friend of mine, so...dont come here to get it. i dont want 2 see u. Call matt and see if he wants u, cuz I dont.

I turned off my phone, and leaned against the doorway to the basement, listening to Mila play her violin...tempted to go downstairs...
