October 31st, EARLIER ENTRY

Diary;

Oh, God! I thought I was in love earlier, but now I know that I am actually in paradise! Emmerson has just blown my world, completely and utterly, wide open!

The way that he moved when we made love...there are no words to describe how I felt, nor how I feel as we rest.

Emmerson turned and traced my cheek. I looked at him and smiled a bit, tracing his neck gently.

“You okay, baby?” he asked.

I nodded and covered his hand with my own. “Beyond good...I feel...incredible!”

He smiled and kissed me once more. “Perfect! I've done my job then.”

I curled up next to him, still smiling. “Emmerson?”

“What's up, darling?”

“Can I ask you something personal?”

He chuckled and kissed the top of my head. “Of course! What do you want to know?”

“I was wondering about your family...I mean, what are they like?”

Emmerson fell silent, and I felt him tense up. I looked up at him and saw the pain in his eyes. I felt horrible for asking.

“You don't have to answer...” I stated, touching his arm gently.

He sighed. “I know...but at the same time...I keep wondering if I talk to someone about my past, it'll help me heal.”

I sat up, the blanket falling off my bare shoulder. “Darling...you can tell me anything, and I would never judge you or leave you...”

Emmerson sighed, sat up, and took me into his arms. “My mom passed away from a liver disease, and my dad left us when I was eight.

“Mom fought with my dad...a lot. When I turned eight, my dad left me and my mom. He called me and my mom sinners, then left us. Mom started drinking a lot, shortly after that. We moved around, and my mom started going out every night. She eventually stopped celebrating my birthday with me. Heck, she stopped celebrating all holidays with me.

“Last year though, when she found out that there was something wrong with her liver...she stopped. She phoned me, apologized and told me what was going on. She begged me to forgive her. I did, and the next week, the hospital phones and tells me that my mom was dead...”

Emmerson fell silent and I looked up at him. His tears were clear and I turned around and kissed his tears away just like he had done for me. He smirked and held my face in his hands.

“Mila, dearest, you are too sweet. Thank you...”

I smiled and kissed him. “Emmerson, you have been good to me ever since I met you...even when you found out I was a vampire. This was the least that I could do.”

Emmerson shook his head, and kissed my nose softly. “No. The least you could have done would have been just sitting there, not caring or doing anything. You have gone up and beyond my expectations. And, what was I going to do? Leave you alone in the cold? Not an option for me. I was in love with you the moment I laid eyes on you.”

I blushed in the moonlight. “Emmerson...”

He kissed me gently once more, and held me close. “I love you, dearest.”

“I love you too, Em.”

Emmerson smiled and nuzzled my neck gently. “Sleep, my love. You are safe with me.”

I smiled, laid my head on his chest, and listened to the sound of Emmerson's heartbeat, reminding myself that there were bags of blood upstairs, plus the rat and mice. I cannot help but wonder how Emmerson could sleep, knowing that I could kill him, if I wanted to...of if I could not control myself...
