JANUARY 7TH, 2019. (MONDAY)

Johnny walks into the school with Ponyboy, their hands intertwined lightly. Ever since they 'came out' on New Year's Eve, the two didn't really have any fear about being more open with their relationship. There was no worry because their little family was so supportive.

"Since we're just coming back from Christmas break, they should just be doing a review to refresh our memory," Ponyboy says, giving Johnny a grin. "Which is good for us because we've been pretty good at remembering school work lately."

Johnny smiles sheepishly and nods his head in agreement, looking at his boyfriend with loving eyes. The way he talked about school and how easy it was made Johnny love him even more. The 14-year-old was just so cute when talking about things he's passionate about.

"Yeah, I think you're right," Johnny says, humming softly. "They should do a review because half of the kids probably don't remember a single thing that we did before the break. And yeah, we have been pretty good at remembering stuff but it's mostly because you're a really great teacher when you want to be. It's really sweet."

Ponyboy grins more than he already was and squeezes Johnny's hand gently, their hands still being intertwined. He leans forward and plants a gentle kiss to his cheek, leaving his lips there for a minute before pulling away. The younger teen really cared for Johnny with everything that he had.

The two of them make their way to their first period, walking into the classroom. Both teenagers walk to the back, sitting in their usual spots. Their fingers were still intertwined as they carefully got out their supplies and their notes from before the break. The two of them always came prepared (more Ponyboy since Johnny was forgetful).

Johnny hums softly, leaning his head on the younger teen's shoulder. He smiles sheepishly and his tan cheeks go pink as Ponyboy places a kiss on the top of his head. Both of them were much more affectionate since the gang knew about them being really together. It was nice to not have to worry about anything happening to them (that family couldn't help with).

"How much do you wanna bet that a few kids won't show up today because they don't want to?" Johnny asks, tilting his head up to look at Ponyboy with a playful grin. "Cause I bet you... I bet you three kisses on the cheek that someone isn't going to show up."

"Well, Johnnycake, that's a pretty good bet," Ponyboy plays along teasingly. "But I bet you one big kiss to the lips that no one is going to be missing from class. Are you on? What do you say, baby? You prepared to lose a bet?"

Johnny scoffs softly, playfully rolling his eyes. He sits up straight and turns his body to face his boyfriend. The younger boy looks at him with a wide grin and an almost mischievous look on his face. The 16-year-old sticks out his hand for Ponyboy to shake.

"You, my sir, are going to lose," Johnny says, chuckling softly. "And I know that for a fact."

Ponyboy sticks his hand out and carefully shakes the older teen's hand, laughing softly. He leans forward to where their lips were almost brushing. Johnny couldn't help but have his face break out into a bright red blush. The 14-year-old pulls away after a few moments to laugh at his boyfriend's flustered face.

"You're on," Ponyboy says softly.

Johnny hides his red face in his hands and listens to the bell as it rings for people to start going to class. They were early as always just so no one would steal their spots in the class. It always worked and they were both thankful because they wouldn't get to sit next to each other otherwise. No more sneaky kisses or flirting. That would just be sad.

Kids slowly start to spill into the classroom, filling up the once empty plastic chairs. Both teenagers hum softly, looking over to see who was going to win the bet. It looks like it could be one way or the other. Some kids might just be late to class or something. That could be it.
