The wedding was one week away.

Servants scurried down the halls as the guards followed after them. You and the pharaoh had just woken up from a late night of cuddling. This was your final relaxation day before you became a queen. As a present for all you have done, the court gave you a free day with the pharaoh. Of course, he still had duties to take care of throughout the day, but the council decided to be lenient for a change. You turned in your shared bed to look at him. He looked so adorable with his hair at disarray. You couldn't help but admire him. His eyebrows were normally furrowed from the constant pressure of his daily life, but when he slept, nothing mattered to him. His nose was as slender as ever creating a trail for the sun's beams to follow. And his jawline, you did not even want to get started on his jaw. One could measure his jaw and find it to be exactly at a ninety-degree angle. You smiled feeling at peace with your lover. As you softly ran your hands through his hair, Atem began to mumble,

"It feels nice"

You chuckled,

"How long have you been awake?"

The pharaoh opened up an amethyst orb to look at you,

"Fifteen minutes"

You rolled your eyes at your king, feeling slightly embarrassed. He smirked upon witnessing your cheeks darken in shade. The pharaoh stood abruptly from your bed to get ready for the day,

"After breakfast, would you like to join me with my duties?"

You pretended to ponder in thought,

"Hmm I don't know Atem, I'm a pretty busy woman. I have to take care of my guard duties, babysit Mana, and fight off the men from flirting with me"

Atem slightly glared before chuckling,

"Oh, that must be a pain. Who are these men you speak of? Have you informed them you will be marrying the pharaoh?"

You laughed, "Yes but I am just so irresistible they can't help themselves"

You both chuckled before getting ready for the day.

Before you could even blink, nightfall had hit. You were both incredibly exhausted from your day. Once in bed, you decide to converse,

"My pharaoh you never had siblings?"

Atem looked at you contently,

"No. I can't say I am sad about it, but I can't say I am happy about it either. It's just one of those things"

He gazed at you as you nodded your head in confirmation. Criminals had killed your family when you were three. In a sense, you understood what it was like being a single child. Your grandma raised you to be a hard-working, courageous woman. You smiled at the memory of her. She had passed away when you were fourteen. After that, you began traveling. Atem knew your background as you had previously explained it to him while cuddling one day. He attempted to understand you as much as he could, keeping an open mind.

As you hugged him, he rubbed circles onto your back to ease your aching muscles. He began to speak once more,

"My love, what do you think about having children?"

You almost jumped off the bed at his words. You have thought about what your children would look like but you never really looked into it. You previously had thought the pharaoh would ever be with you. The more you thought about what he had asked, the more you blushed. You and Atem had never been intimate before. Besides the cuddling, flirting and kissing, it never went beyond that,

"I think it would be nice"

The pharaoh moved closer to face you. His eyes sparkled slightly as you spoke,

"I cannot lie and say I have not thought of what our kids would look like my pharaoh"

Atem held a big smile while grabbing your hands,

"I cannot deny it either dearest one. Would you like to have a child with me?"

The king looked down at you hoping you would say yes. He always wanted children as he never had siblings. He wouldn't want his child to feel lonely as he did. You blushed even more,

"Of course I would. I'd be more than happy to give you a child. But I do believe the time is not right just yet"

The Pharaoh nodded in confirmation,

"Having a child now would not be wise. Bakura is still threatening war with us"

Atem clenched his jaw in thought. Bakura has been tormenting small parts of the kingdom. The king had gone in, putting the small battles out. But it never seemed to be enough.

You cupped his cheek,

"But as soon as it is over, I promise you, we will have as many babies as you want my king"

Atem couldn't help but express himself by kissing you passionately. He was happy to have someone as caring and considerate as you.
