The night was almost silent. The only noises that could be heard was the occasional owl hoot and the wind whistling. The guards to a large facility just outside of the town where Barden University was patrolling outside, assault rifles pressed against their chest as their eyes scanned the area as they slowly moved around the building.
"South entrance, report?" A man who was situated at the North Entrance called into his radio attacked to his black assault vest.
"All clear, Sir" A woman responds and he nods in satisfaction and he goes to turn around to loop back to South as he notices someone on his patrol wasn't there. Or he was. On the floor.
"Haynes, Get off the floor!" he chuckles, but he doesn't move. As he walks over to him, he suddenly see's the pool of bloody dimly shown from the moonlight. As he goes for his radio, a hand rips it off the chest and chucks it away. He turns to his side to see a small figure stood there, a blade in their hand. Before he could even pull his gun up, the blade is brought across his neck. The figure walked past him as he fell to his knee's, clutching his neck for dear life. The small figure then unholstered their silenced pistol, and aimed to her left and as they pull the trigger, a guard walks directly into the bullet, their head jolting back from the bullet as they fall to the floor.
As the small figure comes around the building to the south entrance, another figure dressed in black gear had bodies surrounding them. They both remove their masks as they walk towards the entrance.
"We got two minutes to get in position. You cover left, I cover right. Be around ten guards" Emily explained as they pushed through the doors, Beca unclipping her ammo and checking. Three bullets. She'll make do. As they came to a corridor with two splits, they both follow what Emily said and stood with their back against the wall, so they were not seen when they come around the corner before it was too late. Beca had one hand with her handgun trained where the guards will walk, with her other hand hovering over two small throwing knives bolstered on her belt. Five guards then came around the corner, and without hesitation she took the first three out with her gun before sending her throwing knives towards the two remaining guards, even with one hand her accuracy was perfect, both inserting themselves directly into the chest, piercing the heart. Beca turned to see Emily going hand to hand. She had two bodies already on the floor, and she had just forced her foot into the knee of the one in front, and using his own hand to shoot the remaining two before grabbing his head and snapping it instantly with a quick jolt to the right. Emily looked over and nodded, a satisfied look on her face as she walked over.
"Impressive." is all Beca said as the two walked over to the control room. Emily kicked it open and within a second Beca had already shot the two guards sat by the console surrounded by computers. Emily walked over and pressed some buttons and a siren blasts throughout the building. Emily smirked as she looked at Beca as she pulled out her handgun and cocked it.
"Let's do this" She said as the two left the ro and headed towards the main hall of the building.
As the two walked in, they both shot the guards situated at their side of the doors. Beca then brought her gun back and steadied it with her other hand as she scanned for the highest threat. She saw two men reached for their own guns. Knights. Beca already opened fired as the screams began to errupt as most went straight for the exits, forgetting they were on lock down. The knights ducked for cover as the two advanced. Beca smirked as she throws her gun and sprints over at incredible speed, summersaulting over their table as she forced two knives she grabbed from her belt and forced them into the back of their neck mid flip. As she landed she pulled the knives out and turned to be met by four knights, all had their handguns trained on her.
"Come on, guys. You know how this plays out" Beca teased.
"It ends with you surrendering" one of th called. But a gun shot echoes as blood explodes from his chest, they all look to see Emily with a grin. Beca took her advantage and brought her knives across their necks.
Beca's signature move was the throat slit. The Light would always know if she killed them by how they died.
Emily and Beca smiled at each other as they approached the group of scientist, banging on the door to get out but to no avail. Beca used her foot to kick a handgun up and catches it perfectly and the two train their weapons on the group.
"Miss Junk, what are you doing with this Shadow?" One of them asked, fear laced in his voice.
"Oh you didn't hear? Makes sense. I didn't wanna really broadcast the fact I work with Alastor now" she grinned. Sure she could of just said the Shadows. But the Light feared Alastor nearly as much as Lucifer. So why not play to their fear of a single person rather than the whe organisation.
"How could you betray the light like that?" Another asked. Emily sighed and shot them point blank in the head.
"Like that" She said, Beca smiled as she looked over at Emily. She was enjoying this. It was obvious. She loved finally being able to let out all her anger for the Light.
"Whoever can answer any of the questions we are going to ask, gets to live. There are three chances" Beca says." What was this meeting about? " She asks.
"The Arch-Angel has requested machines to be made. 7 to be exact. We have just recently created them to cause the Tectonic plates to shift at the will of the user." One of them said. Beca and Emily shared an uneasy look.
"Why in the hell would he do that?" Emily pushed. No one answered. She growls as she puts her gun back up and trains it on a scientist. "I'll ask again. WHY?" She roared.
"We don't know. We just do what they request. It's all for a better world" One of them says. Emy cringes before shooting them in the shoulder, causing them to howl in pain.
"Don't preach that shit to me again" She says, disgusted.
"Secondly" Beca intervenes. "Do any of you have knowledge of a girl named Chloe Beale" She asked. The look of confused glances gave her the answer. Beca cursed under her breath.
"Last question." Beca smirked as she looked at Emily. "Who knew we were lying about keeping you alive" She said and the pair opened fire, taking out the group within seconds.
"That was fun" Emily admits as she looks at the bloodshed around them, but as she looked at Beca, she had a worried look now. "Beca, what's wrong?" She asks.
"I've never heard of the Light openly making weapons of mass destruction." Beca says.
"He has a lot of secret projects going on. This was just the Georgia one. I've heard of him commissioning some sort of machine that creates a Eco-system. Apparently he wants to make a base in the artic or something" Emily informs Beca. "But no ones heard of anything that could be used to cause chaos. I think we should definitely look into it." Emily says. Beca nods as she sheaths her knives.
"Let's go. We shouldn't stay around too long" Beca said as the two leave, heading back to the security room and taking off the lock down and leaving the facility, and the night became almost silent again.
So, some plot advancement! Yay! What do you think the Tectonic plate machine is going to be used for? Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
