Chapter 2: Change

*Ben*

     It was the last day of school and I couldn't leave fast enough. I jogged out the door alone, I usually walk home with Luís or Bri. When I didn't see either of them, I just left. As I walked down the street, I was looking for Bri. I liked walking home with her, it was a good time for us to talk and relax. Tonight was special, Carlito was going on vacation with his girlfriend for a few days so Briana is staying at my house while they're gone. This is the first time she's spending the night without her brother in a while. It sucks because I miss the time with her. But, I get it. It's hard especially since my twin and I share a bedroom, and the whole us being teenagers thing haha. I got about two blocks away from the school when I saw Briana walking down the street a bit ahead of me. I jogged up behind her and grabbed her waist. 

"Hey!" I grabbed her waist and picked her up.

"Ahh, What the Hell?!" She screamed out as I laughed and put her down.

"Ben! You scared me!" She smiled and gave me a side hug then kept walking down the street.

"So, high school in the fall for you. You ready?" I smiled.

"I'm a little nervous. Hey, at least we'll be in the same school again." She smiled nudged my arm.

I noticed she was walking kind of funny, like her back was hurting. I tapped her shoulder and started to take her bag off of her back.

"You look like you need a break, gimme."

"Ugh thank you. That helps a lot." She sighed, stretching her back or a bit before we continued.

"Ready for hockey season to start tom--" I was cut off by random yelling . When I turned around, I saw my twin brother running after us. I rolled my eyes and waved him over to us.

Luís and I are close, I just hate how he talks to Briana sometimes. He's gotten better, but, he always talks crap to her and I have to referee between the two of them. Luís and her usually stayed away from each other but they always had a little bit of tension. They never really argued until Bri started playing hockey on his team. As the years went on, I think he got used to it, but they still argue here and there.

"Thanks for waiting." Luís was out of breath.

"What's wrong with you?" His face disgusted looking at Briana while she was bent over stretching her back.

"Her back's hurting.. Dejala sola Lu."  I turn toward Briana and continued walking.

"Ben, I'm gonna walk ahead. I think I need to lay down for a bit." Her face had pain written all over it.

"Oh okay, here's the key. Just leave the front door unlocked."

She grabbed the keys and I watched her walk off. She was so beautiful. I just hope she feels better, we planned a Netflix marathon for later.

"PMS much haha...Ow, why'd you hit me? it's not like she heard me" Luís laughed.

"Don't say things like that about her. It's rude" I punched him again then walked off.

20 minutes later

When we got home, I dropped my bag by the door and made my way to the couch. I saw Bri laying on the couch with a glass of water on the table in front of her. I dropped our bags off at the front door, walked over and sat down on the couch next to her.

"How you feeling?"

"Better, I took some Advil a little while ago. I'm not sure what going on with me, I was fine all day." She was confused about her condition.
