*The Next Day*

Ben and Mike had left about 2 hours ago and I was cleaning the living room. Carlito had left for his morning workout, and Cat was at work so I wouldn't be seeing her later on tonight. I was quietly folding blankets and thinking about how I'm going to explain last night to Carlito. Ben asked me on a date. Before he left this morning, he told me the day and what he wanted to do. With it being this weekend, I have to talk to Carlito today. After I finished my chores, I started to get ready for practice. I heard the front door open and Carlito talking. He was asking if I was ready to go.
"Coming!" I put on my T-shirt, grabbed my phone and headed downstairs.
I grabbed my duffle bag from the floor and made sure I had everything. Carlito had just finished making a protein shake, pouring half into a to-go cup for me.
"Got everything?" He put the shake next to me and grabbed his keys.
"Yeah, I'm ready. Thanks for the shake." I threw my bag over my shoulder and walked to the car.
We loaded the trunk and started the thirty-minute ride to the arena. There's no better time then now.
"Can I talk to you about something?" I was nervous but I go the courage to ask.
"Yeah, what's on your mind?"
"So last night, Ben and I were talking.." I was stuttering just a bit.
"Yeah? That's normal haha. Everything Okay?" He sounded confused.
"Ben asked me out on a date for Friday night, can I go?" My stomach dropped and my eyes closed. The question pouring out like word vomit.
"Wait, what? Ben asked you on a date" Carlito was surprised but didn't sound upset. He actually smiled a bit.
"Yes. Can I go?" My nerves relaxed and I smiled.
"Where does he want to take you?" He kept avoiding my question.
"The 4th of July festival." I smiled.
"We go to that together anyway, so that's fine with me." Carlito totally missed my point.
"That's great! But.. Carlito, I was asking because I want to go with him alone." My excitement disappeared, as my heart sank and my nerves returned.
"I think you're too young to go on a date with a boy by yourself. But since I know Ben, I'll think about it." His tone changed quickly, then immediately turned the radio up. Completely ending our conversation.
My heart sank and I barely paid attention to the fact that we stopped in front of the arena and Carlito was getting my bag from the trunk. I got out of the car, quietly taking my bag and walking inside.
4 hours later
"So last night, Ben spent the night at my house." I said over the loud locker room shower.
"Oh yeah? How'd it go?" Lexa said as she turned the water off.
"Pretty well, He asked me on a date." I turned the water off and grabbed my towel.
