Chapter 3: Night #1

*Briana*

I sat in my place on the couch as the boys brought in the snacks and made themselves comfortable.

"Soo what movie are we starting with?" I asked Ben while I shoved a handful of popcorn in my mouth.

"We agreed on scary movies for tonight.. What about we start with Friday the 13th?"

We all agreed. I grabbed a another handful of popcorn before passing the bowl to Mike. Luís dimmed the lights and got comfortable waiting for the movie to begin. I began ro relax and get comfortable in my seat. I was starting to get cold so I pulled a blanket over my lap and moved closer to Ben. As the movie continued, I was getting a bit scared. Ben looked over at me, then moved closer and put an arm around my shoulders. I was excited and nervous all at once. But I decided go with my instinct. I leaned my head on his shoulder and relaxed into him. I smiled a bit, it felt nice to cuddle with him. Although it was short lived. Mike tapped Ben on the shoulder, and Ben stopped cuddling me shortly after. I was annoyed about it, especially since Ben is really cute and comfortable.

When the movie ended, I got up to use the bathroom and brush my teeth.

*Ben*

When Briana got up and went upstairs, I turned back to Mike.

"Can we talk in private?"

"Yea" Mike pointed to the patio and we got up to go outside.

"What's up Compa?" Mike sat down on the step.

"Why did you make me stop cuddling with Bri? You know I like her. Plus, she was into it" I was definitely annoyed at that.

"Because, you're too young for that, plus Luís and I are in there. That's something the two of you do on a date. Have you even told her how you feel yet? " Mike was smiling the whole time

"We aren't 'too young' for that. No, I haven't talked about it with her. We don't talk about that kind of stuff together." I looked at the ground.

Mike was quiet, just looking at me.

"But what if she doesn't feel the same way? I don't want to ruin our friendship." I was nervous.

"You two trust each other. You'll find a way."

Mike gave me a pat on the back before we got up to go inside. We went back into the living room and Bri was finally back in her seat, ready for another movie. Luís went upstairs saying he was tired but Mike joined us for Freddy Vs. Jason. I sat back down on the couch with Briana and pressed play. She was getting tired so she leaned on my shoulder and pulled the blanket over her lap and up to her chest. I smiled and secretly wrapped a hand around her waist. The blanket was covering my arm so Mike didn't see anything. She smiled and cuddled closer to me. I could feel Mike staring at us but he didn't say anything this time. I'm glad he didn't. When the movie ended, Mike asked me to help get the living room cleaned up a bit before going to bed.

"Ben, you sleep upstairs. Got it?" Mike was firm and I just agreed with him.

I went into the living room and sat down with Briana. We put on cable was watched ESPN while we talked for a bit. I thought about telling her how I felt, tonight. But after thinking about how the night went, I decided to wait and think more about what I wanted to say before I went and did something I would regret. She ended up falling asleep on my lap soon after I changed the channel I gently put her head onto a pillow and quietly walked upstairs. I didn't go upstairs right away. I went slow, kind of watching her sleep..God she's adorable. I need to tell her how I feel, I can't take it anymore.

*Briana*

I was rudely woken up this morning around 9am by Mike tickling me. I kept kicking him away and turning over trying to fall back asleep. Mike finally picked me up and threw me over his shoulder and walked me into the kitchen.

"Mike put me down!" I was laughing and screaming while punching him.

"Awww Bri Bri didn't wanna wake up huh" Ben was taunting and poked my sides while I squeaked at his touch.

When Mike finally put me down, I grabbed an orange out of the fruit bowl on the counter and started to peel it. When I finished it, I went upstairs to the twins' room. I walked in, grabbed my bag and started looking for my stuff to get ready. I wasn't paying too much attention to anything besides my bag until I heard a voice.

"Ummm, Briana" There was someone behind me but I didn't see anyone follow my upstairs.

I looked around for a moment and saw stoped to see Luís standing in front of me with wet hair and a towel wrapped around his waist. Wow, he's definitely not ugly.....

"Wow, um sorry. I'll go downstairs." Surprisingly, I couldn't take my eyes off him

"Wait B, you dropped something." I turned around and Luís put his hand out.

I grabbed my bra and I walked out the door to literally walk into Ben and drop all of my clothes..

"Oh, Sorry.." Ben apologized.

"Relax, why so nervous B?" Ben and I knelt down to get my clothes.

"I wanna change and when I got in here, Luís was getting ready. This is just awkward."

My face was red, I was annoyed, and my eyes filled with tears as I looked to the floor. Ben took my hand to pull me in and gave me a hug.

"You're fine B." He whispered in my ear after letting me out of our hug, then handed me my clothes.

I took deep breath and stood up. Finally heading into the bathroom to get ready.

*Ben*

"What was that about?" Luís was getting dressed while I shut the door behind me.

"Nothing, she's fine." I laid on my bed and started checking my phone calendar.

"Alright, well.. We leave for practice in 15 minutes. You want a ride?" Luís was in the mirror checking his hair.

"Nah I'm jogging, it's conditioning day" I tossed my phone to the side before grabbing my workout clothes.

"Sounds good.. Hey, what's going on between you and Briana?"

"Nothing, at least I don't think so... Why?" I was nervous.

"Just wondering. Last night you two looked extra cozy. You were enjoying it a little too much and so was she" he smiled and raised his eyebrows a few times.

"She was scared from the movie, that's all" I kept getting dressed, trying to ignore him.

"Well she's gotten really pretty over the years.. You should jump on that ASAP"

"Alright Lu.. Enough. I don't wanna talk about this anymore" I didn't like that he thought Briana was attractive.

After my super awkward conversation with Lu, I finished getting dressed packed my gym bag. I couldn't stop thinking about what Luís said about Bri. What if he likes her too? When I finished, I went downstairs to the kitchen hoping that Bri was there, but it was unusually quiet. I filled my gallon of water and I headed out. When I walked out into the garage, I saw Bri and Luís packing the back of the SUV with their gear. Since it was the beginning of the season, they had to bring everything with them. Their padding, helmet, stick, jerseys.. it was a lot.

"Wow, I could neverrrrr play hockey" I laughed as I watched the two of them attempt to fit everything in the car. I threw my backpack on then my favorite LA Dodgers cap. I just stood there and watched her for a bit.

"Shut up Ben, go do your workout." Bri smiled and I noticed she couldn't keep her eyes off me.

I bit my bottom lip and smiled at her while she closed the trunk of the car. They finally finished packing and headed to the arena. I watched them drive off, smiled and started my two mile run to the gym.
