Chapter 8: Big Brother

I was quiet, just sitting next to Ben, who was angrily sitting on his bed next to me. The silence was broken when the front door opened and laughter filled the living room.

"Bri Bri, Estoy Aquí! Dondé estas tú?" That voice was so familiar.

Carlito is back! I was so excited to see him. I ran downstairs and jumped on his back. He started spinning me around before he put me down and gave me a big hug, then he kissed the top of my head. Carlito is pretty tall. I'm 5'5 and he is about 6'2. When I hugged him, my face always goes to the spot below his chest and his arm around my shoulders. My smile was huge and I was so glad to see him.

"Hey B, how was you your stay?" Carlito looked down at me.

"Pretty good, I didn't have practice today so I went out with Jenna and Alexa." I turned around to grab my duffle bag.

"That's good B.. Why no practice today? Aye Lu, no practice today?" Carlito was kind of confused.

"Only the guys did. It's a long story." Luís was pretty calm even though he just had a huge argument with Ben. He walked outside shortly after his greeting.

"Enlighten me.." Carlito was interested in what Luís had to say.

"I'll tell you when we get home. AFTER you tell me how the vacation went." I punched his arm playfully and laughed.

"Alright fine. Go get the rest of your things. Since you went shopping today haha" Carlito got up and grabbed my duffle bag to bring them to the car.

I went upstairs to get the things that I bought earlier that day, then went down to the car. Ben was in his room and Luís on the patio. They didn't come to say 'goodbye' or anything. But I didn't mind. I was more interested in talking to my brother.

"Cat!! You're here! I thought you stayed home.." I was excited to see her.

We got in the car and headed back to our house. I'm happy that I was going home with them. I missed them so much. Even when my brother is annoying. We drove for about ten minutes, before pulling into the driveway and Carlito popped the trunk. I got my things and started bringing them up to my room. We finished getting everything into the house. He was relaxing on the couch and I was upstairs with Cat unpacking and catching up with my 'big sister'.

"So how was vacation, Miami right?" I continued while I organized my closet.

"Pretty good, the hotel was gorgeous and the beach was great. Your brother actually relaxed for a bit haha" Cat passed my hockey bag to me so I started could clean it.

"I know right, he's so uptight sometimes." We both laughed.

"I heard that" He sounded close.

Carlito leaned on the doorway to my room and got involved in our conversation.

"How was practice day one? Did you get your line up for the season?" He was serious.

"Not yet, we just got into the basics and got our schedules." I finished packing my bag and pushed it in front of my window.

"So you ever gonna tell me why you didn't have practice today?" Carlito was persistent.

"Well, since you must know... Long story short, the girls got their own locker room this season and the guys were being mean to us. So coach only had the guys at practice, not the girls" I didn't want to discuss this too much.

"What were they doing?" He just wouldn't stop.

"I don't want to get into it. Call Mike, he knows what happened." I continued prepping my hockey bag for next practice.
