"Kai..", she looks up at me through her lashes.

"Think about it. Would it be so bad?", I smile.

"Our parents are getting married in two weeks", she looks down at her nails.

"I can't get you outta my head Jay. Your literally all I think about", I say lifting her chin.

"But", she says softly.

"But nothing", I smile.

"Kai. I love my dad. I would never want to get in the way of his happiness", she shrugs.

"Me either. My mom is the best", I laugh a little.

"Then. Then why would we want to ruin their happiness". Suddenly we hear a knock at my door.

"Honey?", my mom calls.

"Yeah?".

"Have you seen Jayleen. She's not in her room", she says behind the door.

"Come in mom".

She walks in with her eyes close, "everyone's clothed right?", she says in disgust.

"Mom. Jayleen is right here", I laugh.

"Oh thank goodness, I heard a female voice, I thought it was Jackie. Imagine that again!", she laughs. I look at Jay and she gives this confused look. Then she looks at me like she just been hit by a bus.

"No Jessica. It's just me", Jay laughs dryly. "Kai and I were just watching a movie", she points to the movie playing.

"Oh right. Sorry, James wanted me to check up on you", she smiles sweetly at Jay.

"Tell him I said I'm fine and I love him", Jay says returning a smile.

"Okay good night kids", my mom says closing the door.

"I'm sorry about-".

"No it's fine, no I think it's getting late", Jay says getting up.

"Wait. Jay what's wrong", I say getting up as well.

"Nothing", she laughs. "I just realized I'm drunk. I don't think my brain could process this in the morning. It's late. I'm. Im gonna go", she says walking fast to the restroom.

Great. I think she obviously had an idea that I dated Jackie, but since my mom said that it was clear as day I was dating her. Fuck. I wanted that to be in my past.

I- I don't know what to think. Yes I thought Kai and Jackie had a past. Did I want to admit it to myself. No but what Jessica said. Well now I know it's true. It's so hard to process. What's not helping is that I am still kinda tipsy.
