"Dinners Ready", my dad calls. I came down with the table all set and everything all in neat bowls along the table. All of this is so new, my dad and I would never do this.. Most nights he wouldn't even be home. He would always be at the office, so I would eat by myself.

"Kai Rachel called earlier", Jessica says serving the food.

"What? Why didn't you tell me?", he says annoyed.

"I did", Jessica says.

"When she called", he clarified.

"Well she didn't want to talk to you..", she said handing my dad his plate.

"You should have told me!", Kai says raising his voice.

"Why? If she wanted to talk to you I would have told you", Jessica challenges.

"Hun How was your day", my dad says loudly trying to change the subject.

"Next time she calls, tell me.", Kai says louder.

"My day was nice, thanks for asking", I said trying to be louder.

"Kai. What has gotten into you? Why can't you just talk to her on your own?", Jessica says hurt.

"Because. She won't talk to me.", Kai says angrily. "What did she even want?".

"Her Mother invited me to brunch", Jessica says.

"When?", he asks.

"Tomorrow..", Jessica says taking a bite. All of this is so awkward.. My dad and I are just watching this all go down eating our food quietly.

"Babe.. Shouldn't we tell the kids what we wanted to tell them tonight?", my dad says getting her attention.

"Right", she says looking down.

"So our honeymoon is going to be at Avoriaz, France", my dad tells us.

"And?", I try and say nicely.

"Well we wanted you both to join us on our honeymoon?", Jessica smiles.

"Your HONEYMOON?!", both Kai and I say in unison.

"Yes", Jessica nods happily.

"Nope. No way", Kai says looking away.

"Kai please", Jessica begged.

"Why would you want us at your honeymoon?", he scoffs.

"It would be more time for all of us to bond as a family before you both go off to college", my dad interjected. "Hun what do you think?", he asks me.

I looked over at Kai and he gave this face trying to make me agree with him. "I mean it beats being here for the entire time", I shrug.

"What's wrong with staying here?", Kai turns to look at me angrily.

"Nothing it's beautiful but being here the entire time with you", I say equally raising my voice. "Would be worse then getting frostbite", I crossed my arms together.

"Oh and your such a joy to be around", he scoffs. I look a little towards my dad and they are both looking at us..

"Great so the plan is a go", Jessica cheers. Kai got up grumpily and stomped outside slamming the door in the process. "Jayleen maybe you should go talk to him", Jessica suggests.

"Me?", I ask confused.

"Yes. You guys seem to be getting along", my dad said.

"Ugh Fine", I sighed getting up.
