"Jay!", I call. I walk down closer to the beach. She was sitting in the water getting drenched. "Jay?", I say softly.
"Yeah?", she sniffles a few tears streaming down her cheek.
"What's the matter?", I ask taking a seat as well.
"Nothing", she says quietly.
"Jay you can talk to me", I sigh moving closer. She stays quiet. "Jay look at me". She turns to face me and all I want to do is take all the pain away from her.
"I'm sorry", she frowns.
"For what?", I ask wiping a tear away from her cheek with my thumb.
"Ruining your night. This is supposed to be the last beach party. I ruined it. I'm sorry", she looks down.
"Can you tell me why your crying?", I ask.
"I don't want to be here anymore", she admits.
"Why?", I frown.
"I- I just want things to go back to normal. This. Us this is not normal. You and I should not be sleeping in the same bed. I shouldn't feel jealous of your girlfriend. I just want this wedding to be over with, so I can move to California", she says with tears streaming down her face.
"When are you moving?", I ask with pain in my heart.
"After the honeymoon. I wanted to move after the wedding but my dad wouldn't let me", she admits.
"So your just going to leave?", I say looking down.
"Yes".
"What if I don't want you to leave?", I say almost as a whisper.
"It's not up to you", she says looking away.
"Jay. Please can we talk about this when we get back to the house?", I ask because my bottom half is very uncomfortable being soaked. She nods and I help her up. "Why did you pick the water as a seating option", I laugh trying to lighten the mood.
"Honestly I don't know. I started to cry and I ran into the water and I collapsed and just sat there crying", she shrugged.
"I'm sorry".
"Why are you sorry?", she asked nudging me.
"For earlier".
"Hey some people are less open. It just means I have to gain your trust", she says in a sad tone.
When we get back to the house my mom and James were in their room. Good thing their room in down stairs.
She goes into her room I'm guessing to change, so do I. I throw on some grey sweats and a lose black shirt. I lay back on my bed..
