"Oh Kai ", Jay wraps her arms around me. I hold her tightly silently crying into her neck. "I'm so sorry".

"I haven't talked about him in two years", I say muffled. "It's so hard. I
It hurts so much just thinking about him".

"If this is too much for you, you don't have to tell me anymore Kai, I understand", she says also hearing her voice sounds like she is also crying.

"No.. I'm going to tell you my full story, everything that happened before you. I need to. You need to hear my story", I say slightly pulling away wiping my tears. She nods and waits for me to continue.

"Kai!", I hear a faint yell. Tears are streaming down my checks as I watch my dad being zipped up in a black body bag. "Baby", my mom comes up to me throwing her arms around me.

Everything feels numb.

"Kai. Please talk to me what happened?", my mom grabs my face making me look at her. "Oh honey", she says sadly tears also covering her checks. She wipes mine away.

"He.. we crashed. I-", I look over at the car that is down burnt black. "I couldn't save him mom. I did this... It's my fault", I sob.

"No baby it's not. Come here", she brings me into a tight hug.

"He's gone.", I say more to myself.

"So Kai do you want to come with me to the beach", Jackie asks me.

Jackie saved my life. She had just saw when the car crashed and rushed to my side of the car and luckily it was easy for her to get me out. Ever since then she's been coming around almost everyday to hang out with me. Alec her twin brother is on my soccer team.

I didn't want to do soccer any more but my mom made me. Something like I can't waste my potential or some shit like that. Alec and Jackie had just moved in the day before the crash and was luckily there to save me life.

"Actually I have practice this afternoon", I shrug. She's beautiful I'll tell you that but I can't even think about anything around her except my dad.

He should have been the one that was saved, not me.

"Oh okay, I'll see you later", she waves as we go separate ways once we are out of school. When I get home I immediately go to my room to take a nap. Sophomore year is killing me with homework, tests, studying, and on top of that practice. School sucks.

"Honey, Rachel is here", my mom pops her head in my room.

"Tell her to come up here", I groan she nods and lightly closes the door. I sit up and pull out all of my homework. Rachel usually comes over so we can do our homework together then we both go to practice. It's pretty much an everyday thing.

"What's up", she says opening the door having her back pack on her back and her sports bag in hand. I'm not gonna lie Rachel is beautiful. She was wearing a Jean skirt with a black crop top on with sandals. Honestly if she wasn't my best friend and Gay than I would totally go out with her.

"Hey", I lift my head up looking through my math notes.

"So I have a trig test on Friday so I really need to study. Do you have one?", she asks as she pulls down her bags.
