Chapter Sixty-Three

Dominique pulled up into the hospital parking lot and turned off her car, she got out and ran into the hospital and was about to walked to the front desk when someone called her name.

Kevin: Toots.

Dominique walked over to her dad and stood in front of him.

Dominique: Papi, what's going on, where's mami?

Kevin: She's in the room.

Dominique was about to go find her mother when Kevin grabbed her arm and gently pulled her back to him.

Kevin: Toots, you can't go back there.

Dominique: Papi, what is going on here, why is mami in the hospital?

Kevin: Honey, you might want to sit down for this.

Dominique: Why?

Kevin: Honey...

Doctor: Family of Tammy Gomez.

Kevin and Dominique walked up to the doctor.

Kevin: That's us, is she ok?

Doctor: Yes, they both are ok.

Dominique:-curious-They both?

Kevin: Thank you sir, can we go see them?

Doctor: They are doing something right, but when they are done you can go see them.

Kevin: Thank you.

Doctor: Your welcome and congratulations.

The doctor walked off to go help the other patients, Kevin turned around to see Dominique with her arms crossed.

Dominique: What was that doctor talking about?

Kevin: Baby come here.

Dominique followed Kevin to the waiting seats and sat down beside him waiting for him to tell her what was going on. Kevin looked at Dominique and took a deep breath.

Kevin: Honey, your mother was...

Dominique: My mami was...what?

Kevin: Pregnant.

Dominique looked at Kevin with her mouth wide opened, she couldn't believe her what she just heard. The thought that her parents keep this a secret from her made her angry.

Kevin: Toots, are you ok?

Dominique: Ok? I am pissed.

Kevin: Baby...

Dominique: Why didn't y'all tell me about this?!!

Kevin: We didn't know how you was going to feel about having a new brother or sister.

Dominique:Y'all knew I always wanted a brother or sister but you kept this from me all this time!!! -stands up- y'all could have told me and I would have been happy but no, y'all have kept this from me for nine months!!! Y'all had me worried about her but just to come to find out that she was pregnant, scared to death that she ws hurt and something bad was happening but no she was just pregnant!!! For nine months, y'all have been lying to me, I asked the both of y'all if there's something that y'all had to tell, if there was something that I needed to know and y'all said no!!!

Kevin: Toots, calm down.

Dominique: Don't tell me to calm down, y'all have kept this from me for the longest and you tell me to calm down!!! I am your daughter!!! I'm suppose to know everything that is going on but apparently that don't mean a damn thing to y'all!!!
