"I'm not sure at what point did I feel so misled. Not sure at what point had I been you know?

Monday came too soon, for the two of us it came too conclusive.

After spending my Sunday tucked in bed detached from the world, school forced me to crawl back aware there isn't a big enough excuse to convince my mother to let me call in sick. At least I had the leverage of wearing a fashionable bandanna to cover up my afflictions but Nick wasn't that lucky.

In no time he became the talk of our school, not that that was a rarity. He is well used to the spotlight if you know what I mean... although not in such an angle."

"Katrina"

"Yeah"

"Cut to the chase"

"I can't, you're missing all the excitement"

"I'm missing work hours and a block of papers is building on my desk. If you'd be kind enough "

"Okay. Your loss. Nothing major happened that day anyway. School, with a headache and a sulking slash petrified partner is a bit hard but we pulled through it.

At night, no nothing really happened at night as well.

I stayed put, too chicken to pull out any string"

She gazed around the small room. Bored out of her bones. She always jumped from one thing to another. Sitting around in the confinements of this small cube made her feel fidgety.

"Staying put included ignoring Murphy's calls and text messages. You gotta understand my hesitation, last time I saw him he was testing his latest goods with a human being, that was our second meeting. Our first included him threatening my life and shooting a mutual acquaintance. So my reference scope was pretty gore!

Upon knowing, Nick threw a tantrum then called Murphy. Cursing at me for upsetting the guy. I argued that Murphy was an angry guy at heart, and ignoring him for a few days wouldn't make things any worse. Nick said it wouldn't make them better. And he was right.

Murphy was angrier than ever. I didn't know how we picked that over the phone but we did and it sucked.

Early in the evening the day after, we went to meet. He had big plans for us but all we wanted was a deal breaker."

:not what I was thinking. Now that Matty is well, indisposed. I sorta need someone to fill in his shoes. You were the one to convince me after all.

Murphy smiled as Katrina crossed her arms around her abdomen.

Nick beside her was looking down at his feet, concentrating on a spot on the slippery floors. His bruised face giving him an aura that wasn't fit for his boyish looks.

Katrina was a little worried about his mind state when entering the shop but soon got distracted with Murphy's latest agenda.

She whined : but I did what you-

:Na-ah.

Murphy's eyes flew to the opened duffel bag on the back : I never told you to do that. But good job. I'm impressed.

A couple of men were unloading the packs into several boxes and organizing them onto smaller bags. Others were loitering in the back carrying the devil's work Katrina thought spotting the white powder among random collections. Who says the devil's work? She thought before spotting a box filled with gold watches and a number of new phones put aside at a table. Her mind reeled trying to detect their line of work specifically. Well, other than drugs and tormenting teenagers.
