Tears filled Thor's eyes and he gently brushed his thumb along Loki's bloodstained cheek. "Am I dreaming?" He asked aloud in pure disbelief. "I watched you die in front of my own eyes."
Loki's deep blue eyes met Thor's. He cracked a small smile. "What can I say, Thor," he began weakly. "I am the God of Mischief." Suddenly, he broke into a coughing fit.
"Loki take it easy. I need to take you somewhere you can rest." Thor placed a hand on Loki's shoulder. "You're going to be alright."
"Thor...wait," Loki started.
Thor looked him in the eyes.
"I'm sorry...for everything."
Thor shook his head. "Now is not the time to worry about apologies. You need to rest."
"But Thor, Asgard is no more. Where do you expect us to stay?"
"I'm going to call Tony, he should be able to help us." Thor whipped out his old flip phone.
"I can definitely tell you've been keeping up with modern technology, brother." Loki teased.
"Shut up, Loki." Buzz buzz buzz... "Tony? Yes, this is Thor. I'm here with um well...Loki. Yes, yes, he is alive although I'm not yet sure how...but we need a place to stay and I was wondering if you had any ideas. That apartment in downtown New York? Alright, that will do for the time being. Thanks again, Tony." Click. "We're going to go see Tony. He wants to check your wounds. We aren't from the city. Hold onto me because we're flying."
Loki wrapped his arms around Thor and held on. "Be careful brother," he wheezed. "I'm not in much of a stable condition for this sort of activity."
"Don't worry brother, I'll be careful." He looked at Loki. "Promise."
Using his axe, Thor took both of them out of the dusty ruins and into the ocean blue sky above. For the first time in a while, the clouds revealed a bright sun, smiling down on the two brothers. So the sun shines on us again.
