30. I Want You And Our Baby

Jack's POV

I've made a huge mistake. I know I have.

I look at the picture of me and Millie and sigh.  I love her. I truly love her. And our baby.

To me it wasn't just some fling. I want to be with her. I want this baby.

Shit what have I done?

I need to win her back. And tell her how much I love her. 

That's it. I've an idea. The best one.

Grabbing my car keys, I lock my door and head out. 

I just hope this plan is going to work.

Millie's POV

I'm starting to love this baby. And I don't want to give it up, but I promised Joe and Dianne.

''Mils are you okay?'' Dianne asks.  I was staying with them in London for a few months, until I could find myself my own place.

''Yeah. I'm fine.'' I sigh.

''Mils what is it?'' Dianne asks, sitting next to me.

''It's the baby,'' I start. ''I'm starting to love it.''

''I knew this would happen.'' Dianne says.

''Please don't be mad.''  I say.

''Millie I'd never be mad. This is your baby. Yours. Joe and I would never stand in your way. We don't want to take the baby from you if you're not one hundred percent.'' Dianne speaks.

''Di's right. We never thought of having another baby, Mils. So if you've changed your mind, its perfectly normal. This is your baby. And if you want to raise the baby. Di and I are here to help.'' Joe says.

''I think I do. I want to keep my baby.'' I cry.

''Then we'll help you. Mils you are not on your own.'' Joe speaks, I nod.

''Thank you guys.'' I smile.

''Hey, you're my little sis. I'll always be here for you.'' Joe smiles, hearing Esme cry.  ''I'll get her.'' 

Once Joe has left, I turn towards Dianne.

''Di?'' She looks at me.

''You alright, sweetheart?'' I shake my head. ''what is it?''

''I love him, Di.'' I sigh.

''Who?'' 

''Jack. I wasn't entirely true. It wasn't just a fling. I was seeing him for a fair few months.'' I say.

''How long is a fair few?'' Dianne asks.

''Six.,'' I sigh. ''I'm not proud of myself. By no means. But, I love him Di. I really love him.''  

''Millie, why didn't you tell me?'' I hear Joe's voice speak, as he comes down the stairs with a sleepy Esme in his arms.

''Because he's one of your closest friends. And because you'd only just found out about me at the time, and vice versa., and I was in the process of dumping Noah, I didn't think it would be appropriate. And I'd only just started seeing Jack.'' I admit.

''Mils how much do you love him?'' Joe asks.

''A lot Joe. I am in love with him, but he doesn't feel the same way.'' I sigh. Dianne pulls me into her, as the doorbell rings.

I hear mumbled voices, and hushed yelling, before Joe walks in with,

''Jack?'' I turn to him. ''what are you doing here?'' 

''Mil's. I'm sorry. I love you. I really love you. To me it wasn't just a fling. I felt something. Love, and I don't want to lose you. I want you, and our baby.''  He walks closer, as he takes my hand and looks me in the eyes.

Slowly letting go of my hand, but not loosing eye contact. He gets down on one knee. ''Oh my god.'' I gasp.

Millicent Louisa Sugg, I love you. More than I could ever describe, and I want to spend the rest of my life trying to prove to you just how much. I want this baby, I do. I was scared before.

Millie, will you become a Maynard and marry me?'' 

I didn't know what to say. I was speechless. ''Say yes Mils.'' Dianne whispers.

I look to Joe for my big brothers approval. He just nods, with a little smile. ''Mil's say something.'' Jack nervously chuckles.

''Its alright Millie. Jack and I are fine, I promise. I approve Mil's.'' Joe says.

Smiling, I nod. ''Jack,'' I pause. ''I'd be honoured. I love you, too. So yes, I'll marry you.'' I beam with tears in my eyes.

Jack, grinning, jumps up and places the ring on my finger,

As he wraps his arms around me and kisses me.

''Its gorgeous Jack.'' I whisper.

''Just like you.'' Jack whispers.

''Congratulations guys.'' Dianne smiles, wiping her tears away.

''Yeah congrats,'' Joe says, ''but you hurt my little sister Jack, I'll hurt you.'' He warns, but chuckles slightly.

''This calls for a celebration.'' Dianne smiles.

''Yeah, lets get the gang together and go out for dinner.'' Joe smiles.

I pull Joe to one side before we head out. ''Are you sure you approve?'' I ask.

''To be honest Mils, I'd rather you not have a boyfriend,'' Joe jokes. ''but I'm glad its Jack, because I know he'll look after you. And I know him, so I can keep a close eye on him.'' He finishes.

''Joe, I promise if he does hurt me I'll be the first to hurt him.'' I laugh.

''Yep, you're definitely a Sugg.'' He chuckles. ''c'mon squirt, lets go.'' Wrapping his arm around my shoulder, we head back over to the others.

I was so lucky.
