It was a few weeks later and we could bring Esme home. She was fine, although on the smaller side, she was fine.

Teddy hadn't really seen much of his little sister. But he was already so protective of her. It was the cutest thing.

Joe placed Esme into her car seat, as I grabbed mine and hers bag and made our way home. Teddy was at Mum and Dads, so we were picking him up on the way home.

"Hey sweet pea. We're home." Joe smiles getting a sleeping Esme out of her car seat.
"Mama hold." Teddy asks.
"Not yet bud. When she's finished her night nights." I say. Teddy was now two he was talking so well.

About an hour later Esme was now awake, meaning Teddy was right on my heels. ''Mama. Hold.'' He says, holding his arms out.

I lead him to the couch, placing him down. I sit with him with Esme in my arms. ''No Mama. I do m'self.'' He said.

''Buddy, no.'' Joe says.

''Dada. I do m'self.'' He repeats, getting ready to throw a strop.

''Alright. Alright. But Mummy and I will sit next to you. Just in case.'' Joe says.

Passing Esme carefully over to Teddy, he was so gentle with her. It was the cutest thing. He was snuggled into her stroking her hair.

I was so emotional, he was the best big brother in the world.

She then started to cry. Checking the time, I realised she was due a feed. Teddy bless him, hearing her cry, started to shush her, rocking her back and forth.

''Good boy Ted, but she's due a feed.'' I say.

''No m siter.'' Teddy cries.

''Buddy she needs food.'' Joe says, trying to take Esme from Teddy.

''No, Teddy siter.'' He cries, keeping hold of her. ''m siter.''

''Bud, how about, once Mummy has fed her, you can hold her again?'' He nods, passing Esme over.

Joe was slaving away making dinner, I was bathing Teddy. Esme was now fast asleep.

''Babe thank you. I'm starving,'' I say as Joe plates our food up, the baby monitor placed on the side. ''how does it feel being a Dad of two?''

''Its a transition,'' He chuckles. ''but amazing. And the fact we have one of each.'' He smiles.

''I know, and how much Teddy loves her already,'' He smile. ''you've got a fight on your hands when she's older. Teddy and you won't let Esme leave the house until she's eighteen.'' I giggle.

''Ever.'' Joe says, laughing.

''Or ever.'' I giggle.

''Cheers, darling.'' Joe smiles as we clink our glasses.

It was the next day now and both Joe and I were knackered. Esme was up every two hours. For feeds, nappy changes and just general, trying to fight sleep. But its fine. It's what babies do. And, when she is older, will get into more of a routine.

''Morning gorgeous, I've made us breakfast.'' Joe says as I come down the stairs with a sleepy Esme in my arms, my red hair all over the place. My hair looked like I'd tried to attack it with a hair brush backwards. Some of it was stuck to my face, the others sticking up.

Teddy had been dropped off at Nursery this morning by Joe. So it was just us three.

''Thanks Joey.'' I smile, placing a kiss on his lips.

''Here let me take her. You sit and eat your breakfast.'' I nod, as Joe holds Esme and walks into the living room with her.

After breakfast, I put my plate into the dishwasher and walked into the living room. The cutest sight I'd ever seen.

Joe and Esme were fast asleep on the sofa cuddled up together, her tiny little arms wrapped around Joe's waist, as one of his arms was behind his head, the other around Esme's back.
