It was “fun last hour friday“. An invention from teachers that took pity on their students. Every second Friday the last hour would be canceled and instead the teachers would organise projects or games or whatever stuff came into their mind. Of course “fun last hour friday“ wasn't the exact name. It was “socially educating training“ because it really was just to bond with classmates but fun last hour friday sounded more fun.
And that's why nobody understood why they had to listen to some people talk. Like literally, it was just listening. No talking. No playing. Nothing.
When the students read this on their weekly information sheet they were confused. “Ms Cooper? in what sense is “speech of unknown people“ socially educating?“, Flash asked in their very first lesson on Monday. “Well, Mr Thompson, we have some very influential people coming to our school. Who says that it has to be group projects every time?“, Ms Cooper said. “Yeah but I don't-“, Flash started. “You'll see on Friday. Now please let me continue my class“, Ms Cooper said dismissive. Peter and Ned shared a weird look. What was up with that?
Friday came rather quickly. As Peter walked into school he knew something was up. Just, what could it be? Ned caught up with him at the locker. “What's up man“, Ned asked. “Yeah“, Peter asked completely distracted by his spider sense. “I'm sorry-what?“, Ned gave him a weird look. “Sorry what were you saying?“ “I said what's up and you answered yes. Is something wrong? Are you hurt?“, Ned, bless his soul, asked with a now concerned look. Next to them MJ shut Peter's locker with a loud thud. “Oh, oh, oh. Take me. I know the answer“, she said while raising her arm. “Okay...what is it?“, Ned's voice slightly wavered. “It's because the fiercest women are coming to our school“, MJ said now nonchalantly. “Excuse me- what?“, Peter studdered out. “Later loosers“, she said and left.
Peter was dreading the last hour. Either they were going to embarrass him or they were going to reveal his secret identity. He just knew it was both but he was in denial. The last hour came much too quickly and he dreaded going to the student hall.
For the first time in his life Peter was relieved of not having to face the people he loved. When he came to the student hall the front rows where completely filled because word spread that the female Avengers were coming. While releasing a breath Peter didn't know he was holding he settled somewhere in the middle to back so that he was hidden by the huge crowd of students.
It didn't take long for all the students to gather in the room. Just seconds after the doors closed, the powerful women and one little girl walked on stage. They settled on their seats and then the lights came on. “Hello students of Midtown. We are very pleased to be at your school. As this hour is usually used for social education we want today to be about the Avengers and what they really are like. We'll all be receiving boards to write. You can ask questions and we will answer who of the Avengers fits most to that“, Pepper Potts spoke to the whole room. It always amazed Peter as to how she managed to get the attention of every room she was in.
Everyone gave a short introduction about themselves as if nobody had known who they were. Silly but well... The seating was: Pepper, Morgan (because she wanted to be there), Natasha, Carol, Wanda, Shuri, Gamora, Nebula and Mantis. The questions flew in like hellfire.
Who's the most handsome one?
Who's the cleanest one?
Who can lift the most weight?
Who can cook the best?
It were questions like that. Only like that. Never once did they say the same name which was quite amusing for Peter as the women argued. And Peter was so happy. There were only 10 minutes left and they were dismissed. He was mentioned once and just briefly at the third question 'Who can lift the most weight'. Shuri was sure but the others didn't know. Thank the lord they talked about Spiderman only and didn't mention his real name. “Guys we only have one question left to answer because then the hour's over. So choose wisely“, Pepper said. Students turned to each other. After some debating Cindy raised her hand: “Who out of all of them makes you smile the most?“.
The women all shared a glance before scribbling their answers. At the count of three they turned their boards and suddenly Peter forgot how to breathe. On every single one stood Spiderman. A slight blush and a smile made it's way onto his face. He felt Ned stare at him with stars in his eyes.
“Wow so that's the first question where you've all chosen the same person. You wanna tell me why him?“, The teacher asked. “Well for me it's always been his politeness. Every morning he comes into the room with a smile on his face while calling out a loud 'Morning guys' and then he gives me a kiss on the cheek. His smile and energy are just so infectious, you have to smile with him. And just to clear things up: He's on the younger site so don't start rumors about what I just said with the cheek kiss stuff“, Pepper laughed. Next was Morgan:“ He makes me laugh all the time. He plays with me and reads me good night stories. He's the best big brother ever“. A few weird stares were exchanged because of the whole brother thing but Natasha gathered their attention again. “For me it has always been his charm. People are so used to me using my body as a weapon. Not to sound wrong but I know I have a good body and I know I have a pretty face. People are just always afraid of even mentioning it so sometimes my confidence falters. But my little baby spider always makes sure to compliment me. And even though I brush it off every time, as soon as he leaves the room I can't keep my mouth from smiling“, Natasha said with one of her really rare smiles. Then Carol said:“ I haven't known him long but I can say he always notices when something's bothering me. I think he's too shy to just ask me about it but he always makes sure I have a pint of ice cream in my hand with my favourite movie running“ . “Yeah he's an angel. I can always talk to him about anything. He'd never judge me and after a long serious conversation he'll always make some joke to get me smiling again. Works everytime“, Wanda continued. “And what can I say. He's my lab buddy, my vine lord and my best friend. People always skid away because I'm royalty but he never let that bother him. I love ma dude“, Shuri laughed. Gamora smiled and said:“ We don't see our little spiderling too often but I think I can speak for the three of us when I say that he's always making sure we're welcome. Sometimes we come visit but it's late at night because we never know what time it is on earth. He always stays up to make sure we're not hungry and have everything we need“. Nebula and Mantis just nodded.
After that the students were dismissed. Peter sat rooted in his seat. Ned tried to pull him along but Peter stayed put. He just couldn't believe they thought that highly of him.
After visiting another school, all the women came back to the Compound. It was late at night so they were surprised to see a whole meal spread out on the table. What surprised them less was a snoring Peter Parker at the end of the table with an apron on. They all smiled adoringly at their boy. Peter suddenly woke up because he fell from his seat. They all started to laugh as he tried to be nonchalant about it. “Yeah maybe I do get you to smile the most“, Peter giggled. All of a sudden the laughter stopped. Peter looked up to see them staring at him. “It was your school wasn't it?“, Natasha asked as she figured it out the fastest. “I love you guys, too“, Peter smiled unsure.
At the end of the night he got about a thousand hugs. Were the Avengers surprised to see the ladies sprawled out on the large couch with slight smiles and Peter in the middle? Not the slightest bit.
