Chapter 15:

It's time,

For my Dr. Silver's appointment.

I load up in the car and I drive.

My hands won't stop shaking and I can't stop clutching the wheel.

This is the appointment I have waited for months. This is the appointment to know if I have fibromyalgia and/or rheumatoid arthritics.

I am shaking so bad even though I took extra anxiety pills. I am rubbing my hands and trying to think positive.
Carter is meeting me at the doctor's office. If anyone is good about telling the doctor how much I hurt, it's Carter. He's my soon to be husband and he is with me everyday.

After about fourty-five minutes later, I are there.

Carter goes out of the chair and runs up to me. He kisses me on the lips and hugs me.

"Genny, it's going to go great. If not, like a good Christian man, I will cuss him out." He smiles and I laugh.

We walk in I check in. I fill out paperwork which takes away. After I finish with paperwork, Carter holds my hand.

"Just think, in a few months, you will be my wife." Carter smiles and I smile as well. It makes me happy knowing I always have my Carter by my side.

"Genesis?" A nurse calls my name.

I jump up and Carter does as well. We follow the nurse back to the room.

"What are we seeing you for today?" The nurse asks.

"Unbearable physically pain in my back, legs, hands, and feet." I tell her as she checks my blood pressure.

"Who do you have with you today?" She asks.

"My soon to be husband, Carter." I smile and he smiles right back at me.

"Congrats, when are you getting married?"

"In May." Carter grins.

"Well I am happy for both of you. Hopefully we can get your pain under control and you will feel great for the wedding."

"That's the plan." I grin.

"The doctor will be with you in a moment." The nurse leaves.

We wait another thirty minutes for Doctor Silver to come in.

"Hello hello, I am Dr. Silver, and you are?"

"I am Genny and this is my soon to be husband Carter."

Dr. Silver looks like about in his thirty's. He has short brown hair and green eyes. He is pretty tall but Carter is taller. Dr. Silver is wearing a blue collar shirt and black dress pants.

"Nice to meet you both, how can I help you Genny?"

I begin to cry and say: "I am in unbearable physical pain in my back, legs, hands, and feet. It's a stabbing pain and it's constant. It never stops. I have tried everything and heat helps. But nothing takes away my pain and I don't know what to do."

"Does it hurt right here?" Dr Silver points around on my back and each time he does I cry.

"I can see you are in a lot of pain. How long have you been in pain?" Dr. Silver asks.

"For two years." I cry.

"When did your symptoms start?" He asks.

"It was a slow process but literally it felt like one day I woke up and I hurt. That pain, never went away."

He asks me about twenty more questions.

"What do you think I have Dr. Silver?" I ask.

"I believe you have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid disease. Not rheumatoid arthritis but rheumatoid disease. I will put you on some pain medicine that you can take two every morning. I will also put you on a medicine you can take every three-four days for the rheumatoid disease. I believe this should help." He answer.

"Wow, thank you." I gasp. A doctor is actually HELPING me!

"I will send the medicine in for you to pick up at your pharmacy. Call me if this medicine doesn't work but it should take a few weeks to work." Dr. Silver smiles.

"You don't know how much this means to us Dr. Silver, thank you." Carter shakes his hand again.

"Bye both you of!" Dr. Silver leaves.

Carter and I can't stop smiling. Carter comes up to me and hugs me.

"Baby, you are going to get better."

For the first time in a long time,

I believe him.
