Food.
Oh how I was craving that right now.
Suddenly I smelled something burning. I looked up from my book to see smoke coming out of the kitchen. I put the book down and walked quickly towards the kitchen to see Vision panicking.
"Vision, it's okay. Let's just open up the windows." I told Vision making him nod before helping him open up the kitchen windows.
After I finished, I looked at his tall figure and smiled.
"Do you know where my dad is?" I asked him.
"He's currently in the meeting room with the rest of the team." Vision replied making me nod and headed back to the couch that was in the living room.
I sat down, got comfortable, and began to read where I had left off. I pushed my glasses up more so that they couldn't be at the end of my nose.
"Hey sweetheart. How are you?" Dad asked out of nowhere making me mentally groan since I couldn't continue to read.
"I'm okay. I'm just you know, trying to read. Oh and also I have an appointment with... what's her name? Oh yeah, Dr. Hernandez. My blood work came back in." I told him making him nod.
"You know, I'm a Doctor too. I can help you too." My dad said making me sigh.
"Help me with what exactly?" I asked him making him look away.
"How probably you should... you know... watch what you're eating." He said making me gasp.
"You did not just say that." I teared up and saw that he quickly panicked.
"I didn't mean it that way sweetheart! I promise. Oh gosh...." he began to panic making me quickly stand up and left my book behind.
"Listen. I know you didn't mean it. But just... let me be me. I'm trying to stay positive." I told him making him nod.
He surprisingly hugged me and I tightly hugged him back.
"Thank God I found you that night. You were only 9 months old. I'm sorry if I'm not enough for you." Dad said making me shake my head and smile.
"You've done everything for me. And I'm thankful. I love you dad." I said making him smile.
"I love you too sweetheart. I need to leave. I have a mission. You know... uhh... they need code green." He shyly said making me laugh.
"I love Hulk. But dad, you better hurry. The Quinjet is about to take off." I pointed to the big window that was in the living room.
Dad said some curse words under his breath, kissed my forehead, and then sprinted out the door making me laugh. I decided that I had read enough for today, and walked to the gym.
I saw that no one was there as I quickly walked to where the weight system was at. I placed my feet to where they were supposed to be placed at and looked up at the screen while smiling.
"Hey Friday. Can you show me how much I currently weigh." I asked Friday.
"Right away miss." She replied.
Three dots appeared until the numbers appeared. My smile turned into a frown when I saw the pounds. I stepped off and sighed.
"Thanks Friday." I sadly said.
"No problem miss." She replied and I walked out the gym and then to my room.
I locked my bedroom door and leaned on the wall that was besides the door. What have I been doing wrong? I mean, I ate some healthy things and tried to do exercises regardless of my really bad asthma.
"Stupid Esperanza." I said and hit my head against the wall.
"Stupid. Stupid." I continued to hit my head against the wall until I could feel enough pain.
I sighed and then walked to the bathroom and stared at the reflection that was staring back at me. I took off my shirt along with my pants and left myself in my underwear.
I saw a broken girl, who smiled when she was in front of her only family but then when she was alone, she would be depressed. I decided it was best for me to go to sleep even though it was 6 in the afternoon. I put on an oversized black shirt and some gray sweats, I put my hair up in a messy bun and then walked to my bed.
"Friday?" I lowly asked.
"Yes miss Banner?"
"Can you make sure that no one comes in my room unless it's something very important? Please..."
"No problem miss Banner."
I put my glasses on my night stand and saw the picture that was there. The Avengers with me during Christmas. I softly smiled and then got comfortable and closed my eyes.
~~~~~~
The intoxicated smell of the person besides me in the doctor's office was driving me crazy. I tightly held onto my purse when my name was called. I took a seat in front of my doctor.
"Hello Esperanza. How are you?" Dr. Hernandez asked me.
"I'm... okay." I hesitated but she didn't notice, instead she smiled.
"So your blood test came back.... and let's just say they weren't good." She frowned making me frown.
"High cholesterol as usual, sugar is high. Now, Esperanza, I want to let you know that you're okay for now. But I highly recommend you to lose a couple of pounds because if not then you might have diabetes at such a young age. Being 26 is already stressing, I know. I went through that, but you have to at least try." She explained making me scoff.
"I'm sorry. I do try. I .... I... I'm just gonna go." I said.
"Esperanza.." She said but I walked out before she even had the chance to explain.
What a great way to start the day.
I got to the Avengers Compound and saw the team in the living room. I slowly walked in and changed my frown to a smile.
"Hey Esperanza." Steve was the one to greet me first making me nod.
"How are you? I missed you." Natasha smiled as she hugged me.
"I'm okay.... I need a personal trainer." I said making the team look at me.
"Why?" Sam asked making me shrug.
"Because." I simply said.
"You don't need it sugar." Sam said but I decided to ignore him.
"Ummm... Esperanza, we would like you to meet someone who's new to our team." Tony spoke up making me sigh.
"Okay."
"Esperanza, meet Bucky Barnes."
