A/N: long chapter! And it's sad...
Third Person POV:
Peter was thinking. Thinking about the fact that he has captured his best friend. Smiling at that thought he watched her through the surveillance camera that was on the far corner of her room.
He watched her as she cried to herself in the chair. He watch as she breathed in and out and murmured small things to herself. He watched the way that she would stare at the camera and shake her head before looking to the other side of the room. He watched as she began to lose hope since she wasn't fighting back.
He studied her body. He did feel bad about basically calling her fat and how no one would go for her. He studied her face. He loved the dimple that was on her left cheek causing him to groan and look away from her.
He thought about changing just for her but he knew it was impossible since clearly she never saw him more than just a friend. He tried to be nice but she wasn't cooperating which lead to wiping her.
He hated it. He hated the fact that he had to wipe her in order for her to only remember him and no one else. He hated the Avengers. He hated them because they only payed attention to her instead of him.
He groaned. He groaned because of the way that he was treating her. He knew it was wrong. He knew it was wrong but he only shrugged it off of his shoulder.
He was in love. Or so he thought. He wanted her to be only his. He loved her jokes back when he was just going undercover. He loved the way that she would dance to Hairspray and pretend to be in the movie. He loved the way her eyes twinkled every time someone made her smile or happy. He loved her sense of humor. He loved the way that she would crack jokes and then make funny noises along with Thor and Steve.
He was sad at the same time. He was sad that she thought that she was ugly. He was sad that she was insecure about her body, her eczema, her weirdness. He was sad that every time she would go in her covers late at night and thought that no one was hearing, she would cry herself to sleep. He was sad that it even cracked something inside of him as he watched her through her window late at night.
Not that he was a creep.
He was jealous. He was jealous about Bucky. He was jealous because she found her knight in shining armor. He was jealous because he noticed how Bucky stared at her with his eyes full of love. He was jealous because Bucky is in love with her. He was jealous about her spending more time with Bucky than him. He was jealous about how Bucky would calm her down after an anxiety attack or how he would come in late at night to cuddle with her because she was crying herself to sleep.
He was confused. He was confused about certain things. Did he want to leave Hydra and be good? Did he want to stay with Hydra and do more evil things? He was confused about life.
He wanted to go back to Aunt May. He wanted to tell her how much he missed her and loved her but it seemed like no use since Erick wiped him and made him kill his only family member still left alive.
All of these thoughts were suddenly interrupted when he heard the agents screaming. He knew immediately who it was so he grabbed the gun that was under the table and immediately walked to the hallway and got into Esperanza's room.
He went in front of her causing Esperanza to look up at him. He noticed how the light in her eyes was no longer there but only emptiness. He regrets making her like this but it was the only way for him to redeem her.
Or so he thought.
After he heard all of the commotion going on outside he saw the three silhouettes coming into the room. He smirked when he saw Bucky along with Steve and Sam.
Bucky held his gun up towards Peter and so did Sam while Steve had his shield.
"Drop the gun Queens." Steve said making Peter chuckle.
"Oh that nickname. Fancy." Peter said as he held on tighter onto his gun as his other hand went into Esperanza's neck causing her to choke.
"Drop the gun asshole. And don't touch my girlfriend." Bucky dangerously said causing Peter to laugh.
"Your girlfriend? How pathetic James. You see, my plan was for her to come with me and I'll leave you all alone. Turns out you guys can't even leave her alone." Peter sneered as he let go of her throat and untied her as he held onto her hair quickly.
He made eye contact with all of them as he slowly put the gun to her temple.
"Shoot me. Go on shoot me. And she dies right here." Peter growled as Sam, Steve and Bucky stepped closer.
"One more step and I'll shoot her." Peter warned when he saw that Bucky was about to step closer.
That's when Esperanza did the famous trick that Natasha thought her and immediately took the gun from Peter when he groaned from the pain.
Esperanza stood in front of him with the gun held up onto his face. Peter only smirked and wiped the sweat that formed on his forehead.
"Oh. If you shoot me they'll come for you Essy." Peter smirked when he saw that Esperanza's hand was shaking.
She knew that if she shot him, it would haunt her forever.
"One..." Peter smirked when she began to count.
"Oh so you're going to count in order for me to surrender? How nice." Peter said as he stood up straighter.
"Two.... Peter don't make me do this." Esperanza teared up when she saw that her best friend was no longer there.
"Fuck off." Peter said but soon regretted saying that when he saw her tearing up even more.
Peter yelled when he was about to jump onto her but two bangs were heard. Esperanza gasped when she saw that Peter looked down onto his shirt and a red spot was about to form.
"Pe-Peter?" Esperanza gasped and the gun dropped to the floor when she saw Peter coughing blood.
Peter weakly sat down on the floor as he looked up to Esperanza. Esperanza began to cry as she covered her mouth with both of her hands and closed her eyes as more tears fell from her face.
She crouched down to the floor and stayed in front of him. He stared at her for a moment and smiled.
"Esperanza..." He whispered before he took his last breath.
Esperanza saw when his chest stopped moving causing her to sob. Steve and Sam stayed behind as Bucky crouched down next to her. He wrapped his arms around her when she sobbed into his shirt.
"I'm so... sorry." She said over and over again causing Bucky to frown at Peter's dead body.
Bucky noticed Steve standing next to him and crouched. He closed Peter's eyes and sighed.
"Let's go home."
