Fluffy and Beautiful

Ch. 2

"Um..." I awkwardly said as I scratched the back of my head when I saw the most beautiful man that I have ever seen in my life.

I mean, my shitty boyfriend could not compare to him. I was planning to break up with my boyfriend since I was in a toxic relationship but I couldn't help to think that this Bucky Barnes was attractive and possibly more respectful.

Shut up Esperanza. You'll never get a chance with him. Not even your boyfriend cares for you. He's only with you for the money. I mean look at you. You're disgusting. My conscience said making me tear up and I just ran away leaving everybody behind with confusion on their faces.

First the doctor, then my conscience. I couldn't stand it anymore. I decided to check my phone and saw that my boyfriend had texted me.

Meet me at the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch.

I mentally sighed, quickly got ready and then headed out the doors and ignored the team when they were calling out my name.

"Hello, my name is Ashley, I'm going to be your waitress for today. What would you like to drink?" The really nice waitress asked making me smile a bit.

"Can I get some water?" My boyfriend Brad said making her nod a jot down what he said.

"Can I please get some coke?" I asked her nicely.

"Darling. You should consider getting water." My boyfriend said making me frown.

"Why?"

"Because it's better for you obviously due to.... the circumstances." He looked at me up and down causing me to bite my lip to keep myself from tearing up.

"Can I please get some water then..." I lowly said making the waitress frown.

"Are you sure miss?" She asked nicely.

"You heard the girl. Get her some water." Brad snapped at her causing her to walk away quickly.

"What are you planning to eat?" I asked him and he shrugged while he continued to look over the menu.

I sighed and then looked over the menu and then checked the time. I wanted to leave already.

"Here are your drinks. Are you ready to order?" The waitress asked.

"Yes. Can I get the Caesar salad with extra ranch." Brad told the waitress.

"And for you ma'am?" She asked me.

"Can I get the double cheeseburger with fries?" I asked her making her smile and nod.

"Okay, I'm going to take your menus and I'll be right back." She smiled as she grabbed our menus and left.

"How can you eat that about of junk food?" Brad asked making my smile drop.

"Because I like it." I whispered and he shook his head.

"That's disgusting."

"And who asked for your opinion?" I snapped but quickly regretted it.

"Who are you talking to like that? You know what happens when you talk back." He darkly said making me gulp.

"Here you go and I hope you enjoy." The waitress gave us our food and I mouthed her a thank you.

We began to eat and I began to quickly ate my food since I was starving. I looked up from my plate to see my boyfriend with a disgusted look on his face. I grabbed a napkin and wiped the corners of my mouth an adjusted my glasses.

"What's wrong?"

"You need to eat like a proper lady Esperanza. No wonder nobody wanted to date you in college." Brad said making me drop my napkin on the plate and my face turned red.

"A mi ya me esta cansando esto Brad. Vete al diablo." My inner Spanish came out making him angry as he chewed on his salad.

(I'm already getting tired of this Brad. Go to hell.)

I got up and left quickly with my purse tightly on my arm. At least dad taught me about my roots and where I came from that he actually took years to learn Spanish and taught me Spanish.

That's when I felt someone harshly grab my arm and I turned around and began to shake in fear when I saw Brad.

"You had the nerve Esperanza. You had the nerve to disrespect me. I will teach you a lesson." Brad spit making me tear up.

I saw people passing by with no care in the world making my heart drop.

"Help." I said to a woman making her shake in fear and ran away.

"Don't you dare to call for help. That will make things worse. Now grab my fucking hand and stay quiet." Brad harshly told me as we began to walk to where his car was at.

I cried silently when I felt his grip tighter on my arm. That's when he let go and I looked to see what had happened. A man with a metal arm, long hair and blue eyes angrily stared at Brad. Bucky.

"What do you think you're doing?" Bucky asked Brad in a low voice making Brad smirk.

"Well women these days simply can't understand how they should obey their man. So I'm going to teach her a lesson." Brad shrugged and I took a step back.

"Esperanza is a lady. You should treat her right along with the others. Go. Before I kick your ass." Bucky told him causing Brad to laugh.

"You wish." Brad said but then Bucky harshly pushed him to Brad's Mercedes and raised his fist.

"Go away." Bucky said causing Brad to smirk.

"Sure. But this isn't over Esperanza." Brad glared at me making me gulp and wiped a tear that fell from my face.

Brad drove away quickly and Bucky was breathing heavily. He turned around and smiled at me. I walked slowly towards him.

"Thank you." I said and took deep breaths.

"It's no problem doll. You don't deserve someone like him." He told me making me nod.

"Believe me. I've tried to get away from him but he just keeps haunting me." I told him and he frowned.

"I'm sorry for running away yesterday. I was just.... shy." I slowly said making him smile.

"It's okay. I'm James Buchanan Barnes. It's a pleasure to meet you." He smiled and put out his hand.

My heart began to beat faster.

Is this normal?

"Hi. I'm Esperanza Banner. Nice to meet you too." Instead of taking him human hand and shake it, I shook his metal arm instead making his smile got wider.
