Ch. 12

"I know how it feels." A voice behind me said making me turn around quickly to see Tony.

"Hey." I smiled making him smile and went on one knee.

"We should head back kid after you finish talking to him." Tony smiled making me chuckle.

"Well, I did sing for him. So I think I'm done. Bye Peter..." I smiled down at his grave and got my things and walked away.

I turned around to see Tony wiping away a few tears making my heart ache.

"Are you coming?"

"Yeah, give me a minute." Tony replied as I went back to my car.

I sighed and put my stuff in the passenger seat.

I got back to the Compound and noticed that somehow Tony got there before me.

Probably because you stopped at Wendy's. My conscience said making me shake my head and finished my lemonade.

I went inside after locking my car and saw the team with birthday hats.

"Happy birthday!" The team cheered making me blush.

"Thank you." I smiled.

Bucky came up to me and gave me a tight hug.

"Don't let anybody tell you stuff. Because you are beautiful inside and out." Bucky whispered in my ear making me nod and smile against his chest.

Gosh he smelled good.

"Let's have cake!" Thor loudly said and the rest nodded.

"Well birthday girl, you slice the first piece." Wanda said making me chuckle.

After we all ate the cake and Thor whining since there wasn't anymore left, it was time for the gifts. Natasha guided me to sit in the big chair that was in the middle of the living room and then told me to have patience.

I noticed that one by one the team came back to the living room with gifts and took a seat around me, well, in front of me.

"Guys, you didn't have to." I giggled when Thor was the first one to hand me his gift.

"Okay, let's see what's in here." I said making the team laugh when I shook the box.

A few things moved inside the box. I opened up the gift and saw some type of pop tarts that I've never seen in my life. I raised my eyebrow and smirked at Thor.

"What is this?" I asked Thor who was chuckling like a little school girl.

"Those are the flavored pop tarts that have not been invented yet! Do you like it Lady Esperanza?" Thor said with wide eyes and I laughed.

"Of course I love it!" I said and motioned him for him to come over.

"Hug!" Thor said making me laugh when he hugged me tight.

"I'm next!" Clint said making me giggle.

I opened it to reveal a bow and a few arrows.

"Nice! Thank you!" I told him.

"Now I can teach you how to properly use the bow!" Clint said and I nodded with a smile.

Natasha got me a Stitch onesie, Tony got me a new car, Steve got me a vinyl record with a few old songs, Wanda gave me a friendship bracelet, Loki got me the book series that I've always wanted, Vision got me a dessert cooking book in which I loved, Scott came over and gave me my favorite artist's concert tickets, Sam gave me the entire Disney movie collection along with some Timberlands, Rhodey gave me a new purse along with a wallet and Fury who didn't came but left his gift gave me a few new lotions along with body spray.

"Okay who's next! I love all of these!" I giggled making the team laugh.

"I'm next. I didn't know what to get you but Steve and Sam helped me. Here you go doll." Bucky kissed my forehead and handed me a delicate box.

I furrowed my eyebrows and gently opened it. I gasped when I saw the picture of all of us when we were watching Hairspray. I was snuggled up next to Bucky while Sam and Tony were singing. I smiled at the picture and gently put it on my lap.

"This is definitely going up in my room." I said.

"Oh Gosh. Do I look like a mess? Let me see!" Tony said and snatched the picture making me laugh.

"I am last I guess." Dad smiled making me nod.

He gave me two individual boxes.

"Happy birthday mi amor." Dad said as he gently kissed my temple.

"Gracias papá." I smiled up at him.

"Open it!"

"Yeah we wanna see!"

I shook my head while smiling at them. I gently opened the smaller box and saw a necklace.

"Ooo! Is this the type of necklace that you can put a picture inside?" I squealed making my dad nod.

"Yeah! Open it." Dad urged me.

I opened up the necklace, and saw that on one side it was a picture of me and dad on my high school graduation. Then I saw the other side and saw Peter and I in the swings when I was little. I teared up and out my hand over my mouth.

"Thank you so much." I cried making him nod.

I opened the other box, which was bigger and saw a portrait of the team and I when I got adopted.

"Wow..." I said and carefully traced the picture.

"Thank you guys so much! I love you all!" I said and opened my arms.

Natasha obviously took advantage and hugged me first followed by the rest.

"What time is it?" I smiled when they pulled away.

"It's nine! Master Chef if about to start!" Clint got worried and I laughed.

I love them.

Third Person POV:

The fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night. The Avengers rush in, half asleep, into the kitchen.

"Is everyone okay?" Tony asked the Avengers.

"Yeah, we are okay." Steve said as he rubbed his eyes.

"What the hell." Bucky mumbled as Wanda stretched.

"What year is it?" Clint said.

Everyone noticed a silhouette near the fire alarm and a paper lit up.

"Esperanza what are you——"

"Now that everyone's here, who finished my chocolate milk?" Esperanza said as she held up the paper that was lit under the fire alarm.

Now the Avengers were frozen in their spots.

No one, and they mean, no one, messed with Esperanza's food or milk.

"Well?" Esperanza eyes each and everyone of them.

"Uhhh.... run." Clint said and the Avengers took off to their rooms and locked their doors.

"Ugh." Esperanza said.

"It was me. I am sorry." Bucky told her making her smile.

"It's okay. At least you're cute enough to admit it."
