- Steve -
Tony was asking for it. The only thing holding him back from punching his sunglasses into his face was Bucky, looking more helpless than Steve had ever seen a human being.
"We will take care of him," T'Challa assured Steve.
Steve looked over at Bucky through the window of the door. It was a whole bunch of overkill to lock him in a room, basically a cell, and not let him talk to anyone.
"Are you sure he'll recover?" Steve wished Bucky could see him.
T'Challa nodded. "My sister, Okoye, and I will check on him every day. He can farm and live in peace until he's ready to go on his own, but he's always welcome in Wakanda."
"I can't thank you enough," Steve shook his hand.
"It's for everyone's well-being, Captain."
Steve genuinely smiled. Well, smiled as well as he could for this situation. He trusted T'Challa and more importantly, he knew Bucky trusted him, too.
A SHIELD agent escorted Bucky out of the room and left him with Steve and T'Challa. Glaring at them, he walked down the opposite side of the hallway. It was great because Tony turned them in and described to this particular SHIELD agent how much he should hate Steve for bringing his "dangerous" friend to the academy. Steve was sure it wasn't just this agent that now disliked Captain America.
"We will be waiting outside. Take your time," T'Challa put a hand on Bucky's shoulder then walked outside.
"I'm sorry," Bucky managed, a silent tear falling down his face.
Steve wiped it away with his thumb. "Don't be," he whispered.
Bucky stepped forwards and buried his face in Steve's shoulder. "I love you."
Steve wrapped his arms around him and rubbed his back. "I love you, too."
Bucky pulled away. "I'll be okay, Steve," he gently touched Steve's cheek, right where a huge bruise was. "I'm sorry," his voice was hardly heard.
Steve pulled Bucky closer and kissed him. Bucky melted into the kiss.
"I'll call every night, love," Steve kissed him once more.
"Okay," Bucky looked like he had nothing else to say.
Steve kissed his cheek and rubbed his hand.
Slowly, Bucky let go of his hand and walked outside to join T'Challa on the lawn, where the jet was waiting for them.
"Asgard seems cool," Steve nodded to Bruce, who was packing a suitcase full of stuff.
"I'm sure it will be," Bruce stuffed an assortment of hoodies and button-ups into his bag. Those seemed to be the only two types of shirts he owned. He only owned two colors as well; yellow and blue (not counting his typical black jeans and white air force ones, of course.) "Where are you going over break?"
Steve was hoping he wouldn't ask. In truth, he was going to look at apartments with Bucky, where they could live during the summer and after they graduated, but he wasn't sure how long he would want to stay in Wakanda and Bucky wouldn't be able to come with him, so it kind of ruined the point of looking.
"Not sure yet," he sighed. "Maybe just gonna stay here."
"I'm sure you could get Tony or someone to go home with."
Steve almost snorted. "No, I'll be fine. Besides, it'll give me time by myself to train and call Bucky and stuff."
"You guys are adorable," grumbled Bruce.
